About the department
Device R&D, located in Hillerød, is an area within our Global R&D organisation responsible for development, design, functionality and regulatory approval of medical devices for self-treatment, supporting all business areas of Novo Nordisk. We have a long and outstanding track-record of developing the best, most innovative and widely-used drug delivery devices in the world. The Device Development team is a high performing team, and our aim is to develop innovative devices that add value to patients and Novo Nordisk. In other words, our obligation is to maximise the value of the current device portfolio within diabetes, growth disorder, haemophilia and new therapy areas by bringing innovative medical device concepts from development candidate to launch readiness. The team is an interdisciplinary group of hardware, software and mechanical engineers and we are looking for new skilled colleagues to join our team.
The position
In this role, you will become a member of one or more project teams, working from the mid to the late phases of our device development pipeline. Together with your colleagues, you will drive system design by combining user insights, new innovations and regulatory requirements to advance the care of people living with chronical diseases. This includes product specification/requirement engineering, risk analysis, tolerance stack-ups and material selection. Your work may also involve mechanical component design, verification and validation - both in the lab and with end-users. At all stages, you will document your work in line with pharmaceutical requirements.
Qualifications
You hold an academic degree within mechanical engineering or similar. We imagine that you have worked with mechanical mechanism design and mechanical design of components. Work experience within medical device development and experience with the design control process for medical devices will be considered an advantage.
As a person, you are comfortable with taking initiative with a ‘can do’ mind-set. You thrive on making independent prioritizations and you like to demonstrate attention to detail. In addition, you are a strong team player, and you bring a good sense of humour to work even when pressure is on.
Proficiency in both oral and written English is essential.
