What we offer
We are expanding our R&D ITE team to meet the high demand for new premium hearing aids. The team develops In the Ear hearing aids and is part of the R&D Powerhouse. As part of the R&D powerhouse of the newly formed WS Audiology, the task is to develop the next-generation high-end hearing aids for the Widex and Signia brands. As a mechanical engineer you will be working with technology that improves the life quality of millions of hearing impaired people worldwide. You will join a team of 7 highly skilled engineers. The job will mostly be project work and will be taking place in integrated cross-functional product teams. Most projects are taken from initial idea to final release and ramp-up by the same product team, so be prepared to participate in all phases of product development.
Your responsibilities
As mechanical engineer you will have the responsibility of the mechanical design in the next generation hearing aids. You will help ensure that the entire device – including electronics, transducers and mechanics – is optimally designed for mechanical performance. Your experience is vital when discussing and choosing between designs, parts and materials, and your job includes feasibility studies on new ideas and technologies.

You have an MSc or PhD education within mechanics, and ideally you have experience within the following areas:
As a person, you understand what it means to be a member of a project team and you can execute a task to a given deadline. You have an innovative and analytical mindset and a good drive, and you like to show results. You enjoy working independently when required, while staying organized and making decisions when needed. You take responsibility for your assignments, while keeping an overview of the ongoing tasks in the project team that are relevant to the overall acoustical performance of the hearing aid. You will be successful in this job if you are collaborative and work systematically.

Some of your daily tasks as a mechanical engineer are:
- Conceptual design and implementation of product architecture.
- Detailed part design and maturation using PTC CREO and our PLM system.
- Design for X, including close collaboration with our simulation teams, inhouse tool shop, Operations, external suppliers, etc.
- Specification and documentation according to Design Control requirements and internal guidelines.
- Prototype builds for early verification and proof-of-concept.
- Verification and validation of design output in collaboration with our Test House and System V&V teams.
- Collaboration with Operations for production release.
- We work with the latest technology in CAD, simulation and prototyping, including PTC CREO, Moldex3D, Abaqus FEA, high-resolution 3D printers, etc., and place a high priority on professional skills with focus on competency development, individual specialization and continuous training.
You
You have an MSc or PhD education within mechanics, and ideally you have experience within the following areas:
- Have a passion for mechanical design and strive to deliver high quality solutions within the defined project deadlines.
- Have experience with development of complex and small plastic, metal and rubber parts – preferably for medical devices requiring Design Control.
- Be a super-user of CAD software preferably PTC CREO.
- Enjoy working with integrated product development from the initial phases to final handover to production.
