In a world on constant and rapid change, we recognize that in order to realize that, it requires significant engineering efforts, which is why we want to hire someone who can take a leading role and ensure that we stay at the forefront of what is possible.
We are organization that is setup as a full stack value stream with is own delivery & architecture function and development teams that are covering different areas. You will be reporting to the architecture function in the value stream. Your focus area will be the non-functional requirements across the stack and a normal week will be split between liaising with internal stakeholders, influence the strategic direction and hands on work. The role is essential for the value stream reaching the next level of maturity.
Your responsibilities will be:
- Own the capacity situation and actions to ensure continuous stability for the value stream.
- Own the Incident & Problem situation for the value stream.
- Establish solid reporting on Service Level Indicators (SLI) for availability, performance, capacity and errors for key services.
- Agree SLIs and subsequently SLOs with SL manager and key stakeholders
- Use SLO tracking to drive improvements
- Proactively identify gaps in resiliency, performance, monitoring and scalability and work with the teams to implement solutions that improve metrics.
- Coach architects, engineers & developers on resilient, highly available design, disaster recovery and related topics.
- Coach teams on performance and resilience engineering
In the short terms your immediate tasks will be to:
- Identify key indicators and establish reporting.
- Uplift reporting on operational stats into ITSM.
- Support the adoption of Dynatrace for the value stream.
- Establish monitoring capabilities and coach teams to use metrics as part of daily work.
Your profile
You are the kind of person who loves technology, how it can be applied for maximum value. You are a problem solver, and prefer to tackle them in collaboration with your peers and stakeholders. You are a numbers guy, and know how to use them to gain insights and spot trends. To succeed in this role, ideally, you are a passionate programmer who’s interest and focus has shifted towards – or always been – the reliability that helps teams continuously deliver more value faster and safer. It is important that you understand or can relate to the world of a developer, a manager, a product owner, a 1st and 2nd level supporter, an infrastructure engineer, IT security staff, that all of these functions are contributing to the overall success of the company.
It is therefore important that you enjoy interacting with people either to understand a specific requirement or help solve a particular problem. You also like to dive deep into code, explore the art of possible and present those ideas to your peers or stakeholders.
Here are a list of some of the technologies you will come across:
- Programming & Scripting: C# .Net, .Net Core, Python, HTML5, CSS, Javascript, Powershell, Bash.
- Data Platforms: MS SQL Server, Kafka, Redis, Azure Datalake, Elastic.
- Hosting & Orchestration: Windows, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, Airflow, Databricks.
- DevOps tools: Azure DevOps, Git, JFrog, Visual Studio, VS Code.
- Monitoring: Dynatrace, Kibana, Grafana, PowerBI
It is important that you can state strong proficiency in one or more in each category, familiarity across the most of the stack, and a willingness to pick up on those you are not familiar with yet.
