Global End-to-End Planner for Diabetes Value Stream

About the Department
We are on a journey to take the S&OP process to the next level. Our ambition is to become a trusted supply chain business partner that optimises the end-to-end supply chain with reliable data and transparent trade-off scenarios. We have already taken several actions to put weight behind our execution and in the beginning of next year we will start to roll-out a new Integrated Business Planning solution that will accelerate the S&OP process.
The department is residing in the Supply Chain unit within Product Supply. Currently, we are transitioning into a new team setup that will comprise of two teams focused on different value steams: ‘Diabetes Value Stream’ and ‘Biopharm & Device Value Stream’. We are responsible for several key processes that includes the launch process, sales & operations planning, regulatory flexibility and long-term end-to-end optimisation process. We are around 23 colleagues in the department from seven different nationalities with various educational backgrounds.
The Position
As Global End-to-end Planner you drive the S&OP process from a data & analytical standpoint in the Integrated Business Planning solution. You work closely with the S&OP Partner that is responsible for the cross-functional stakeholder collaboration and to drive the alignment around S&OP decisions. You will manage the end-to-end planning scenarios and drive analyses as input to the S&OP decision process. It will often be triggered by a demand and supply imbalance or an optimisation of the supply network. You will work very closely with the S&OP Partner and together draft a long list of ideas on how to solve the imbalance. You will drive the analyses and develop recommendations based on data and clearly outline the impact on the various decision metrics.
The aim is to ensure proactive planning to secure uninterrupted supply to patients globally at competitive cost, efficient asset utilisation including right inventory levels while supporting the Circular4Zero agenda and without comprising on quality & compliance. This also includes to ensure the right level of robustness and sufficient regulatory flexibility in the supply chains.
You will also be responsible to prepare the tactical supply chain plans and that they are aligned both end-to-end from demand, through manufacturing to suppliers and across the different factories. This includes to ensure a number of supply chain planning parameters are defined and maintained effectively e.g. planning prioritisation, segmentations, alerts and threshold for escalation etc. You will validate both demand and supply inputs to ensure stable and reliable plans are cascaded effectively to the operational planning team.
A day could look like this; You start the day by following up on emails from both affiliates and factories. You give a call to one of the factories to align on some assumption needed for a S&OP cases you are preparing together with a S&OP Partner & a Regulatory Partner. With the updated assumptions you prepare a few analyses before presenting them in a meeting in the afternoon to your working group. Afterwards, you calculate the impact of an alternative planning scenario and finalise the analysis.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, we imagine you have a sharp eye for details, a strong analytical mindset and great structured problem-solving skills.
• Master’s Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance or similar
• Minimum of 6 years relevant work experience from a large company – preferably within life science
• Solid business understanding mixed with hands-on experience from either operational & global planning
• Preferably, you have several years of planning experience from BioPharm with a solid understanding of the business in an international environment
• You are excellent at translating data into business insights and it comes naturally to you to propose solutions to problems.
• Strong system mindset, knowing the importance of reliable data and experience from working in advanced planning systems (e.g. APO, OMP, etc.)
• Great collaboration and stakeholder skills, communicating clearly and concisely
• Excellent independent work and teamwork skills, delivering high quality output punctually
• Fluent in both written and verbal English
