The position
This job gives you a unique opportunity to work with multiple stakeholders including Late Stage Development, analysis teams, QA, RA, sourcing, pilot facilities, production facilities, and external partners. In addition, you will be part of the management team of Manufacturing Development.
So, what will you do?
• Utilize your organic chemistry / peptide synthesis knowledge to bring in a new pipeline of products on a new platform and establish processes at CMO
• Lead the API team consisting of highly skilled chemists, laboratory technicians, and specialists with product and process responsibility within organic chemistry and peptides synthesis
• Build and further develop your team to succeed in this exciting journey
• Collaborate closely with other departments and with external contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) in a cross functional organisation
You will be responsible for creating a working environment where innovation and creativity are resulting in new ways of optimising bottlenecks and transferring products to CMO’s.

Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has leadership experience and who is skilled in classical organic chemistry and solid-phase peptide synthesis for the manufacturing of APIs, as well as chemical modification of recombinant peptides and proteins.
You will be a great asset to our management team, because you have:
• Experience with people management
• A relevant Master’s degree (or higher) and experience in organic chemistry / peptide synthesis
• Full professional proficiency in English.
• Great collaboration skills in cross-functional teams
• Experience working with CMOs or from working in a CMO

About the department
As part of Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply organisation, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (PS API) is responsible for manufacturing of APIs for Novo Nordisk’s products. You will be assigned to Manufacturing Development (MDev), a cross-functional area that works at the interface between R&D and full-scale manufacturing with a focus on process management, process understanding, implementation and optimisation. In this area you will find more than 200 skilled colleagues working within four strategic areas (1) Fermented API; (2) Synthetic peptide API’s and Side Chain Reagents; (3) QC support; (4) Equipment, design & modelling.
You will be leading the API Team (Synthetic peptide API’s and Side Chain Reagents).
