In Novo Nordisk’s Data Protection Office (DPO), we need a new colleague who has thoughts, ideas and reflections on such questions, and wants to help us further explore these exciting issues. A new colleague who is an ambitious team player with a positive mindset and wide-ranging curiosity. Is this you? The team The DPO is a dedicated and energetic team of five employees. Our task is to develop and drive the global strategy and program to comply with personal data protection laws, including GDPR. The DPO works with a global network of more than 150 personal data protection compliance anchors out in the Line of Business and is closely aligned with a 400+ strong global legal and compliance organization. We are part of the Business Ethics Compliance Office (BECO), which is responsible for Novo Nordisk’s global ethics and compliance strategy in personal data, human rights, and anti-bribery/anti-corruption. The job As Senior Compliance Counsel, your key responsibilities will be:
  • Provide risk-based advice to the organization on how to identify, assess, and mitigate personal data protection risks
  • Help create and optimize digital processes and systems to effectively support and simplify compliance
  • Develop engaging guidance and training to business stakeholders to increase competencies and awareness regarding personal data protection
  • Assist in handling high risk data breaches
    • In this senior role, we will need you to think big on strategic issues, execute on complex projects, and provide mentoring and help develop your colleagues. This position as Senior Compliance Counsel offers a fantastic opportunity to obtain valuable insights into Novo Nordisk’s global compliance program and business operations. You will have the possibility to develop your risk management, project management, and communication skills as well as to build a strong network within our global organization. Qualifications You hold a master’s degree in law and come with 7+ years of practical legal or compliance experience and solid project management skills. You have solid experience in building a strong and solid framework and governance on data protection, preferably from a pharma context. You are good at communicating complex issues in an easy-to-understand manner, both in person and in writing, and you speak and write English fluently. Interacting with stakeholders in all levels, functions, and geographical areas of the organization motivates you.
