As a Specialist, Biophysical Characterization, you will be part of solving scientific problems based on a fundamental understanding of physical chemistry, protein solution behaviour and production processes. The role is within the Biophysical Characterization team, where Specialists, Scientists and Technicians work together to ensure the highest level of support to our sites and develop new methods of characterization from a biophysical perspective. In the team, you find a plethora of biophysical equipment, e.g., SAXS, Cryo-TEM and DLS. Key responsibilities include: Highest level of support to our sites and develop new methods for characterization from a biophysical perspective. Collaborate with the Analytical Technology team who are experts within the field of spectroscopy. Developing controlled manufacturing processes. Collaborate with stakeholders across the production area with focus on developing the pharmaceutical production for the future. Focus on the production setup for the future using your competences to ensure the physical stability is in control. With your biophysical knowledge and by applying biophysical analyses to process related challenges, you will take part in developing controlled manufacturing processes and take it to the next technological level. You will contribute to improvements to the analytical platforms used in the team and can expect to participate on other cross functional projects within biophysical characterization. As this position has global involvement with the sites, some travel days throughout the year could be expected. Qualifications Your experiences include: You hold a PhD, or higher, within a relevant scientific discipline such as Biophysics, Soft Matter Physics, Physical Chemistry, Bio or Nano engineering or similar. Protein solution behaviour and stability knowledge is expected. Expertise with one or more of the characterization methods such as MFI, ThT fibrillation assay, FT-IR, rheology, and/or scattering techniques such as DLS, SLS and SAXS, as well as the underlying physical principles. Knowledge regarding Spectroscopic methods such as Raman, IR, UV-Vis and possibly fluorescence. Applying biophysical analyses to pharmaceutical manufacturing processes is advantageous. Knowledge/experience with pharmaceutical production lines as well as with process analytical technology is beneficial. As a person, you are a team player, who brings in and executes new ideas. Site Support & Improvements is a part of Injectable Finished Products (IFP) Manufacturing Development in PS Novo Nordisk. The department is organised in eleven teams with approx. 150 employees.
