Then you might be interested in joining the AI Lab, a growing team of engineers and technology experts in the AI and Analytics Center of Excellence, BI, Data Management & Analytics at Novo Nordisk. The AI Lab brings useful and trustworthy AI innovation to the rest of Novo Nordisk. The position We are looking for a Python Engineer who is excited about building the next generation AI infrastructure for Novo Nordisk and energized about making a large impact for users and ultimately the patients of Novo Nordisk. Our infrastructure powers applications of Generative AI / Large Language Models that are used across the company. We apply healthy engineering principles and our ambition is to deliver the best AI solutions tailored to Novo Nordisk, using our modern and integrated development process. The tech stack we use is centered around Python and includes frameworks like FastAPI, OpenAI, Streamlit, Langchain among others. We deploy using GitHub Actions as our CI/CD pipeline to both Azure and AWS. We also use a variety of vector databases, depending on need, such as Postgresql and Elasticsearch. For monitoring we use the solutions provided by Azure and AWS and visualised using Grafana. Key Responsibilities
  • Build and develop testable business logic for applications and POCs in Python.
  • Implement unit and integration tests for all logic using pytest.
  • Build integrations to other systems and databases.
  • Ability to understand complex business domains and design features that solve complex problems in a simple and coherent way.
  • Assisting users with issues, troubleshoot complex interface related errors.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and line of business to understand user requirements and system functionality.
  • Update technical documents, attend team meetings, and actively participate in ideation of innovative solutions.
    • Qualifications Education and Experience:
  • Master’s degree in relevant subject with 2+ years of experience.
  • Proficiency in Python backend API development, Python project structure, and package management tools (Poetry, pip-tools).
  • Experience with SQL databases, how to create data models and write to them.
  • Experience in deploying and monitoring production systems, including setting up alerts.
    • Software Engineering Skills:
  • Professional collaborative software engineering experience with Git, peer reviews.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and scalable code.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, preferably Github Actions.
  • Experience with containerising software using Docker and AWS ECS.
  • Understanding of software development principles and methodologies.
  • Takes responsibility for all aspects of an application's lifecycle.
    • Cloud Platforms:
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms Azure and AWS.
    • Soft Skills:
  • Highly self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
  • Passion for writing good, testable, and well-documented code.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
    • Additional Qualifications
  • Data integration knowledge is a plus.
  • Experience with frontend languages and frameworks such as Typescript and React is a plus.

The position is primarily located in Bagsværd, with flexible working options. As you will be working in a global environment, you must expect some meetings to take place outside Danish working hours and with limited travel activity. About the department The AI and Analytics Center of Excellence is a team of data scientists, analysts, machine learning engineers and developers, partnering across the organisation to deliver impactful end to end data products, analytics and ML solutions spanning from Research, to Commercial and Production. We want to industrialise and democratise the way we do AI, reducing the lead time from PoC to Production with scalable data platforms, MLOps, reference architectures and modularised components that span across the whole data and ML lifecycle. We are cloud native and work primarily in AWS and Azure. We work agile, embrace continuous learning and a culture of feedback and honesty, and we don’t forget to have fun. Our group is part of the larger area of BI, Data Management and Analytics, where we get to work closely with our data lake, data marketplace and data science platforms, having cross-functional power to quickly design and implement scalable solutions as well as take care of operations.
