Are you motivated by managing and controlling combined HW/SW development projects?
LEO Pharma has set the ambitious goal to become the world’s preferred dermatology care partner. A key contributor in making this vision come true is founded on extensive expansion of our medical device portfolio, and that is why we need you and your skills across hardware and software. We have license to an electronic combination device that we now need to tailor to make it a 100% LEO Pharma product with emphasis on electromechanics and connectivity – and you shall manage the development process which is carried out by our external partner. This is expected to be the first of many similar cases, meaning you will have the opportunity to shape our future within these business critical operations.
Coordination and management across design and functionality
Your overall goal is to ensure that new devices are developed to match LEO Pharma’s requirements. You will especially focus on system engineering and monitoring of the development process to ensure top quality. Development will be done with an external development partner, and your main role will be to ensure the right documentation level and that the product fulfill agreed specifications. This calls for especially your mechanical understanding across hardware and software in combination with your coordination skills.

Coordination skills and medical device development experience
We are looking for a person, that has the technical overview it takes to manage complex development projects and not to forget the motivation for doing so. You must thrive in an outgoing role, where you proactively interact with a great number of different people, internally and externally. This calls for your ability to get your messages across in a way that makes sense to your audience covering technical people and non-technical people. Related to this, you know when to stand fast and when to go for a reasonable compromise, and you can do so in a way that do not jeopardize the relationship.

You will join 7 highly skilled R&D professionals within the Devices area. With our focus on connectivity we merge technology and medical products with the overall aim to provide digital health solutions to both patients and caregivers. We work systematically with innovation and base our processes on design thinking and systems engineering – experimentation and early testing is our foundation to ensure products with maximum reliability and an intuitive user interaction.
We work in an informal environment characterised by entrepreneurial spirit and a common drive for making a significant difference for people with skin diseases. We are based at the LEO Pharma headquarters in Ballerup, Greater Copenhagen.

- Be Technical Lead in development projects carried out by external partners
- Ensure product reliability including both mechanics, software and hardware
- Create overview of the total development project including sub projects
- Monitor progression in technical development – both at LEO Pharma and at our external partner
- Create documentation package for both EU and US – including handling deliverables from both LEO Pharma and external partner
- Build LEO Pharma procedures for how to handle product quality in an electronical combination product
- Handle design review – evaluate planned activities from a technical point of view
- Build relations to external partners and their R&D Engineers

- Solid experience from working with development projects and the ability to monitor progress in a development process
- Solid understanding of systems engineering with software as a critical part
- Understanding of risk management
- Design control experience – the ability to ensure the link between needs, requirements and specifications
- Ideally, experience within drug delivery systems / injection devices providing you with e.g. understanding of dosage control
