We are looking for a Senior Director as Global Program Head (GPH) who will take up the responsibility of leading the cross-functional Global Asset Team (GAT) of one of our key late stage programs. The Global Program Head (GPH) is a highly visible and strategic role that develops and delivers global asset strate-gies and tactical plans through leadership of the Global Asset Team. For this role, we are looking for a GPH with focus on leading the late pipeline assets for phase 3, through registration and launch in close collaboration with your commercial co-lead.
You will report to the VP, R&D Portfolio & Program Leadership, Malene Mueller, and be part of the leader-ship team for the functional area as well as be part of the extended R&D Leadership Team. You will play an important role in building our capabilities and competencies even further, while at the same time en-suring efficient and effective drug development.
The Portfolio and Program Leadership function resides in Global Research and Development and is re-sponsible for the R&D development programs starting at candidate selection all the way through devel-opment, launch and life-cycle management for our marketed products. We are a great and diverse team of app. 25 people all working together to excel in project leadership and portfolio management in align-ment with the overall Project and Portfolio Governance in LEO Pharma. The GPH drives strategic decision-making within the GAT and is accountable for bringing appropriate decisions to boards for endorsement. Your primary responsibilities will be to:
• In close collaboration with your commercial counterpart, lead Global Asset Teams (GATs) to de-velop asset strategies
• Set the asset vision, and with the GAT, develop effective cross-functional strategies to achieve it
• Effectively communicate strategy and rationale to Project Governance to enable decision-making
• Lead the GAT to develop/refine the integrated development plan for the asset and execute against the governance approved strategy
• Ensure that the development program considers the competitive situation and the newest scientific knowledge of the target, the disease and indication, as well as the patient need
• Maximize value by managing quality, costs/resources, time, opportunity and risks together with the program management line represented by the Global Program Manager on the team
• Ensure that programs are executed with a focus on quality and speed, while maintaining a collaborative team atmosphere.
• Handling of communication to internal and external stakeholders of critical information, achieving alignment in a matrixed organization.
• Monitor and ensure effective communication between key stakeholders, including functions, major geographies, and governance bodies
• Representing the GAT at the highest corporate and external levels, potentially including top regulatory meetings
• Member and active participant within the Portoflio & Program leadership team ensuring, together with peers, that LEO development is organized and run to the highest standards
• On request, participate in Joint Steering Committees and other BD activities
We are looking for a candidate with at least 10 years pharmaceutical industry experience, strong experience working in the drug development space in cross-functional teams. You have proven leadership skills and are known for your open and positive mindset and find it motivating to work with people development and helping others to be their best. As part of this, you apply Enterprise thinking and find compromises and solutions that fit the portfolio and LEO at large. You have strong stakeholder management and communication skills and are able to communicate effectively with colleagues from a variety of scientific and business disciplines. Additionally, you can manage ambiguity effectively and have a good under-standing of team dynamics and how to promote and support constructive collaboration. You will work closely with your leadership colleagues in R&D Portfolio & Program leadership team to continue to develop the area, to optimize the processes related to efficient project leadership and to strengthen project centricity across the organization. Additionally, you are proactive and take a joint responsibility for creating a motivating and fun atmosphere to work in. You will be working out of our HQ in Ballerup, but will interact with colleagues around the world.
