It’s a position where you will take responsibility for a variety of service projects and will be asked to provide day-to-day guidance to help others solve their technical challenges.
About the position
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Lifeboat Service Technical Team as a Technical Engineer Global Support. We are looking for a technical and solutions-oriented team player to join our dedicated team, to take responsibility for providing Technical & Regulatory support, technical solutions, and project support to all VIKING Lifeboat Service stations around the world.
This position is full-time and offers the possibility for remote working. So whether your location is in Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands or elsewhere in the world, we would like to hear from you. What is most important is that you: love problem solving; have experience from a similar position, and are used to working remotely.
We will, of course, ensure that you receive thorough training and that, once you are fully on board, the position opens up opportunities for both professional and personal development.
This is a great opportunity for somebody with good technical knowledge who wants to learn, to be challenged, and to be involved in supporting the success of our Service Network.
The role
This role demands flexibility to work across a variety of projects support of our service network, but core tasks will include:
- Support by providing technical solutions to the daily challenges of Lifeboat Service
- Support by providing expertise, guidance, reports and technical studies
- Offer Quality Assurance of service jobs according to relevant IMO regulations and corporate standards
Everything you do will be about supporting our network and helping to create a safer world.
Your background
In addition to being fluent in English (spoken and written), candidates will need;
- Higher education in mechanical engineering at Bachelors or Masters level, or equivalent past professional experience within the Lifeboat Servicing industry
- To be a team player and capable of working well independently
- Broad knowledge of lifeboat & davit service, mechanics, electrical engineering and/or hydraulics is considered as an advantage
- A customer oriented, problem solving and flexible attitude
On a personal level, you are proactive, curious and have a "can do" attitude. In addition, you have a solid business understanding and cannavigate a global organization with many stakeholders.
