As our new Student Assistant, you would be part of our Digital Twin team composed of 4 full-time developers and 3 part-time, student developers, including you. The team develops data solutions, process optimizations, simulations, and digital twins for the rest of the BRD organization. You will mainly be involved in solving flow challenges and helping develop solutions for our digital twin portfolio using CFD and other simulation software. Examples of where we apply such competencies include virtual smoke and airflow simulations, process and equipment CFD optimization, mixer tanks, product flows, etc.
Your main responsibilities are included, but not limited to: Supporting our factories and laboratories with insights to optimize decision-making and generate synthetic data for digital twins Participating in scoping the problems/opportunities & stakeholder management Developing the CFD simulations, and evaluating the output together with the line of business We expect you to be available 12-15 hours weekly for this position. With your early experience in CFD, you will further learn digital twin tools and competencies under the guidance of our Tech Lead and full-time CFD Engineer. You are currently studying a Bachelor’s or Master’s (With at least 1 year left of your studying) within Mechanical Engineering, Mathematical Modelling, Chemical Engineering, or similar fields.
To succeed in this role, you have: A strong interest in building digital twin competencies Previous experience with CFD Entrepreneur mindset with detail orientation & organization skills Fluency in both spoken and written English Preference (nice to have): Experience applying reduced order modelling and machine learning to CFD Knowledge about pharma, data analytics, process simulation, and digital twins Experience with HPC clusters, scripting, and macros As a person, you are curious and eager to provide value to the process owners and other stakeholders by understanding our processes and how the interplay between different parts of them affect the whole. Additionally, we expect you to be able to communicate with people from different educational backgrounds, from management to shop floor. Furthermore, you are professional, self-engaged, and show a high degree of attention to detail. About the department
