Solutions IT, part of DSV Panalpina Global IT, is responsible for running and adapting IT to the DSV Solutions division, which is growing and currently operates approx. 500 warehouses globally and employs more than 21,000 people. Solutions IT was founded 4 years ago to strengthen the IT deliverables to the Solutions Business Unit after the acquisition of UTI. Since then, DSV and Solutions has grown in services, geography, and volumes and this has impacted both Global IT and Solutions IT and will continue to impact how IT is organised. The Solutions IT organisation employs more than 130 IT professionals in more than 14 countries. Currently, we have a handful of main applications and more than 100 individual applications. The management team in Solutions IT consists of 6 Managers and is headed by a Senior Director. While the daily focus is to ensure stable operation and to develop new services to the growing business, the long-term aspiration is to become a fully enterprise ready IT organisation.
As Director, Solutions IT Operation, you will develop clear policies and processes which will take out complexity and cost and ensure an even more smooth service. This entails close liaison with Global IT’s IT Operations organisation as well as our Enterprise Architects. Key is know-how in service delivery and in defining a global infrastructure architecture and Master Data Management.
As responsible for a department of more than 20 dedicated second line supporters and managers for our global WMS’s, you will be the go-to person if our service is not up to par. Going forward you will also become service owner for a set of consolidated applications.
Set the direction and lead the change
This role is a new role in the management team of Solutions IT and will require technical depth and communication skills at director level and above in both IT and business. As the Solutions IT management team is geographically spread you must be comfortable with virtual teams and be self-guided to a large extend.
You will be expected to bring analysis and perspectives and execution power to our organisation within a short timeframe, so we will do our outmost to give you a strong foundation. We have experienced employees, and time has come to add skills to the organisation. With more than 1,500 employees in DSV Global IT, it is necessary that you can see through the entire organization and identify the right steps forward for Solutions IT.
Your main responsibilities include:
You will be based at our HQ in Hedehusene and can look forward to travel activities approximately 1-5 days a month
Experienced leader
You combine your theoretical background within IT with extensive leadership experience in global IT organisations. You are ambitious and combine hard work with your continuous improvements mindset. Creating results through people, structure and design comes natural to you, and you excel at stakeholder management at all levels. Previous experience with project and programme management is a huge plus.

- Use our service commitments to our customers to develop an appropriate infrastructure policy.
- Use our current service to the business to identify areas of improvements
- Support streamlining and consolidating of existing applications.
- Define and execute projects which ensure Solutions IT stays compliant within Global IT e.g. through product life cycle monitoring, relevant architecture design and security initiatives.
- Develop policies and ensure quality in our master data management.
