The Position As our new colleague, you will join the manufacturing development project team as IMM expert, where you will be setting the direction for the injection moulding machines to be purchased for the new site. Including integration towards box exchangers, robots and IT-systems for process control and data capture. The key responsibilities of the role will be:
  • Defining the IMM requirements and standards towards suppliers
  • Contributing to the strategic direction for equipment on the new site
  • Specifying interfaces between mould, equipment & cavity sensors
  • Specifying and purchasing auxiliary equipment
  • Support equipment data utilization related to process control and release
  • 20-50 travel days per year is to be expected depending on the project phase (mostly within Denmark). This position offers a high level of collaboration across the organization. You will work closely together with our robot specialist and the technical lead of the project, as well as the tooling engineers developing the injection moulding tools. Technicians and process supporters in the current production lines in Hillerød will get you a hands-on angle on your project, device development will provide insight in the “why” behind the product specifications, and from your colleagues in Quality Assurance you will get all the support you need to meet regulative standards in your results – just to name a few of the many places where your face will quickly become familiar. Over time your knowledge and experience will contribute to future device manufacturing development projects, and there are wide opportunities for professional development to either further deepen or broaden your skillset. Qualifications To be the right fit for this role you likely have:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Automation or Mechanical Engineering or similar technical background.
  • Min 5 years’ experience within the injection moulding industry either at a medical device manufacturer, equipment developer or high-volume manufacturer e.g. within components for food or consumer goods.
  • Extensive experience with different brands of high-quality injection moulding machines such as Netstal, Engel, Arburg and Demag.
  • Gained your experience by driving purchasing and validation of new IMMs into a production facility or through maintenance or trouble shooting in running production.
  • Potentially worked with injection moulding process development and have a thorough understanding of the physics behind a high-quality process.
  • Good stakeholder management skills and technically proficient in English.

About the Department You will be joining a department with 25 dedicated colleagues within plastic processing, tooling and equipment in the Device Manufacturing Development area in Hillerød. We develop the equipment and processes that transform new Medical Device designs into actual products for our patients, bridging the gap between the development departments and the Injection Moulding production sites. In this group you will be working closely together with our three other equipment engineers specialized in robot handling of injection moulded parts and automated part decoration and vision inspection.
