ALK is the world leader within delivering allergy solutions to people living with allergy. To pursue our ambitious growth and maintain this position we need to focus even more on improving our internal global collaboration and harmonisation. Therefore, we are searching for an experienced engineer who wants to drive ALKs global engineering collaboration and knowledge sharing, leading to improved utilization of engineering resources across the company’s different sites and the alignment of engineering standards.
As our Global Engineering Director, you will be responsible for driving the collaboration within our global engineering management group with members from ALKs 6 global production sites (DK, ES, FR and US). Moreover, you will act as Subject-Matter Expert and participate in global cross functional projects. This new position is anchored in the department Global Technology Support (GTS), which already consists of 6 highly skilled specialists that are specialised in different area within pharmaceutical manufacturing.
GTS has a central role in the company with a high degree of collaboration with stakeholders across ALK. You will be part of a dedicated team acting in an informal environment providing good opportunities to shape your job.

As our Global Engineering Director, you will be responsible for driving the collaboration within our global engineering management group with members from ALKs 6 global production sites (DK, ES, FR and US). Your role as global engineering director
- Drive global collaboration across ALKs engineering groups with special focus on establishing best practises and supporting ALKs sustainability agenda
- Chair the global engineering management group with members from all production sites
- Guide, coordinate and/or execute tasks in global cross functional projects, where engineering competences are required i.e., drive implementation of a global computerized manufacturing maintenance system (CMMS) in collaboration with our IT department.
- Through a close collaboration with Global Quality, Global Business Support and all ALK production sites, support or drive manufacturing and quality excellence initiatives
- Support evaluation and implementation of EHS improvements in close collaboration with the EHS organisation
- Establish global engineering standards and engineering project processes
- Identify and evaluate continuous improvement initiatives to optimize capacity and equipment utilization leading to efficient gains in Product Supply, for example by introduction of new technologies and digitalization
Your qualifications
- 10+ years in engineering, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
- A degree in engineering
- Competence and experience within the area of:
- Design, qualification, and maintenance of manufacturing process equipment
- Design Qualification and maintenance of utilities i.e., water systems
- Design, construction and qualification of manufacturing facilities (room classification)
- Automation of processes including qualification of compurized systems
- Experience with improvement of sustainability of manufacturing processes and facilities
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- You are an extrovert person and easy to work with. Being proactive and interacting with people gives you energy and looking for better solutions comes natural to you
- You have an analytical mindset with problem solving skills
- Strong stakeholder management and good communication skills
- GxP Compliance and documentation are part of our mindset, therefore experience and ability to achieve compliance in an effective and useful way is an advantage
