A.P. Moller - Maersk is looking for an experienced advisor on social impact, human rights and responsible business to join our Corporate Sustainability team.
Maersk is a global leader in integrated container logistics working to connect and simplify our customers’ supply chains. And we are in the middle of an industry-defining transformation that will change the way global trade moves and contribute to a sustainable future.
It’s a big moment for all of us – and as part of our corporate sustainability team you will have a role to play in supporting Maersk’s strategic ambitions on decarbonisation and sustainability.
Are you ready to join the transformation?
Maersk is a global company with great strength and vast outreach. We have the ability – and the responsibility – to contribute to a more sustainable future, and we take leadership on global issues where we have the competencies and leverage to make a real difference. As the global integrator of container logistics, our sustainability priorities are to enable sustainable trade by decarbonising logistics, embedding sustainability in our end-to-end offerings, and ensuring responsible business practices.
Placed in Copenhagen and reporting to the Head of Corporate Sustainability, you will be part of a small central sustainability team with broad outreach across the global organisation.
We offer an exciting and attractive career in an ambitious environment with the possibility of continuous professional and personal development. The environment is international and dynamic with focus on high performance and achieving results through teamwork.
As a performance-oriented company, we strive to always recruit the best person for the job – regardless of gender, age, nationality, sexual orientation or religious beliefs.
We are proud of our diversity and see it as a genuine source of strength.
There is strong momentum on the sustainability and ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) agenda among our customers, investors and other key stakeholders.
Responsible business practices is the foundation for our value proposition to customers and capital markets, and it will be your role as senior advisor to advise leaders and colleagues on social sustainability trends and topics shaping new regulation, standards and stakeholder expectations, to guide and inform Maersk’s response.
You will particularly be responsible for:
• Advice on social responsibility and sustainability standards across the end-to-end logistics supply chain
• Human rights and responsible business analysis and advice for due diligence, risk assessment and issues management
• Research on social impact related to trade and sustainability for thought leadership and strategy development
• External stakeholder engagement and partnerships
• Contributing to external reporting (Sustainability Report, Modern Slavery)
The ideal candidate is a business-oriented sustainability professional with a Master’s degree in a relevant field and min. 5 years’ experience.
You have a solid understanding of human rights and social sustainability issues as they relate to global business and proven experience working in or advising corporates on managing and communicating responsible business and social impact.
You are skilled at assessing and translating social sustainability trends and issues into relevant and tangible recommendations and actions for our business colleagues.
You have a strong drive and a structured approach to your work, communicate clearly, and are able to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Not least, you are a team player with a sense of humour.
Your written and spoken English is impeccable. Knowledge of Danish and/or additional languages would be an advantage, but not a requirement.
