Calling climate concerned sustainability and lifecycle specialists! We are looking for you to join our team in Copenhagen to help Maersk achieve the ambitions targets we have set: Maersk recently launched a vision to become a net zero emissions company by 2040 across our entire supply chain.
Climate action and decarbonized supply chains are imperative for us and you will play a crucial role in enabling our transformation.
Reaching our targets is not an easy task. With more than 700 ships on the Ocean and a growing inland transport and logistics business, we are responsible for more than 60 million tons of CO2 across our supply chain from ships, trucks, trains, airplanes, terminals and warehouses.
This illustrates the sheer scale of the transition journey ahead of us.

The Targets & LCA team works with setting science-based targets across all emission scopes and activities of Maersk.
We also safeguard the sustainability of the technologies and solutions we deploy to reach our targets with respect to the lifecycle environmental impact and carry out lifecycle assessment and sustainability assessments of feedstocks, processes and products.
Key responsibilities
We are looking for an environmental engineer and lifecycle assessment specialist who can help us ensure that new innovative solutions, such as advanced fuels, energy sources and assets contribute to a sustainable decarbonization of our industry.
Your primary work tasks will be centred around sustainability analysis and life cycle assessment of future fuels and technologies like the green methanol for our future vessel fleets, road- and aviation fuels, batteries, and to give well-founded recommendations.
We are open to a variety of backgrounds and experiences, but ideally you have profound experience in sustainability and standardised lifecycle assessment (ISO 14040-44).
Other relevant experience could be science-based targets, regulatory frameworks, fuel certification schemes and standards, mass flow analysis, sustainable agricultural and forestry, biodiversity and ecosystems impact and nature-based carbon offsetting solutions.
