We are looking to hire an experienced leader to drive forecasting, Planning and development of global Contract Logistics network based out of Copenhagen. In this role you will drive network design and development building our capacity in optimal locations, working backwards from the future and based on Maersk Ocean and global trade data, to steer quickly based on changes in the environment. You will develop forecasting and planning capabilities and mechanism to anticipate our growth by location and product type improving decision-making processes related to infrastructure investment decisions.Our vision is to be become the world’s leading contract logistics provider, doubling down on the long-standing deconsolidation and consolidation, while developing omni-channel and e-commerce fulfilment capabilities. Contract logistics is a critical component in building the ‘Fulfilled by Maersk’ service model, enabling us to serve customer needs beyond the container. Building on our strength in Ocean, CL aims to provide customers the ability to consolidate & deconsolidate orders, and fulfil & value-add (labelling, kitting, etc.) at any stage in the supply chain. This will also improve E2E customer visibility and access to inventory, ultimately offering our customers a “global virtual warehouse” where they can tailor their fulfilment in real time to respond to changing demand or channel patterns.

You will develop forecasting and planning capabilities and mechanism to anticipate our growth by location and product type improving decision-making processes related to infrastructure investment decisions. The role will drive visibility on colocation and concentration opportunities to drive network efficiencies. This capability will Invest in network simulation capabilities to drive a strategic expansion of our CL network, for Maersk but also our customers as product.
Global Contract logistics network is on a rapid expansion phase in order to enable the integrated supply chain offering for Maersk. This role will have end to end ownership of the network development initiatives that need to be delivered to ensure worldwide contract logistics network can scale optimally. The remit of this function is broad, and you will find yourself working on a range of exciting and highly visible projects including areas such as where should Contract logistics leverage Maersk’s broader operational infrastructure vs. building its own expansion strategy for new countries.
This role will partner with global teams across Country, Regional and Ocean Operations to scope, define and deliver the long-term solution required. You will be comfortable operating in a large, complex, cross-functional and matrixed organization. You will have the ability to build and leverage relationships across a wide stakeholder group to generate creative solutions strategic problems.

The ideal candidate for this role will be able to:
- Create demand planning frame works to drive network development efforts.
- Develop optimization models to drive network efficiencies.
- Drive Network development strategy efforts across the global organization.
- Have experience influencing and earning the trust of senior stakeholders and moving business teams to take action
- Have a strong sense of urgency and commitment
- Experience working in a strategic role, owning the long-term vision
- Program management, change management or business transformation experience
- Experience working in a cross-functional, matrixed organization
- Experience working with cross functional stakeholders’ groups
- Experience working in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
- Effective and clear written and verbal communication skills
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in any STEM field.
- Master’s Degree in Engineering, Operations, Logistics, Business or related fields
- Professional experience in supply chain, manufacturing, transportation and/or distribution environments.
- Experience of working within logistics, transportation or parcel delivery environment
- Experience of change management/growth environments
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Analytical with good data conceptualization skills
