Maersk Growth, the corporate venture and external innovation arm of A.P. Moller-Maersk, is looking to hire a Senior Venture Investment profile with a keen interest in green fuel and energy transition technologies. This is a great opportunity to engage and develop emergent technologies against one of the principal emissions and energy challenges of our time, with the support of a skilled and multi-disciplinary group keen to deliver real-world results against sizeable ambitions.

This opportunity will give you the possibility to drive the investment process for Maersk Growth from A to Z. You will scout and source potential cases together with the Maersk Decarbonization team, which is a multi-disciplinary group focused on the Energy Transition for Maersk.

In this function, you will join Maersk Growth and become part of the strategy function in Maersk HQ, Copenhagen. You will be supported by and working collaboratively with the Maersk Decarbonization team, a multi-disciplinary group focused on exploring and operationalizing the fuel transition commercially.

Key responsibilities 

In this role you will support origination and drive execution of investments, monitor company performance, and take up select board or observer positions across new and existing portfolio.

Some (but not all) of your key responsibilities will be:

Perform research and investment due diligence with technical assessment driven by the Future Fuels team within Maersk’s Decarbonization unit and make informed investment decisions based on the analysis and due diligence findings.
Oversee and manage a portfolio of investments in the sector and continuously monitor the performance of each investment and implement strategies to optimize returns and mitigate risks.
Lead the Due Diligence process on potential cases
Be the representative of the team at the Investment Committee
In general, be the go to person for all future investment related matters

Who we are looking for 

To excel in this role, you must have extensive venture capital experience, a hunger and capability to learn fast, and most of all to work collaboratively to deploy meaningful capital for the coming years.

Additionally, we are looking for someone who:

Has solid experience in venture capital, private equity, or a related field
Can prove a track record of leading and closing successful investments
Understands how to utilize your strong network of contacts and connections in the startup ecosystem
Has a deep understanding of market trends, opportunities, and challenges
Has Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
Has a growth mindset, a collaborative spirit, and a high degree of integrity
You might have worked with the green fuel industry and/or decarbonization before, although this is not a need
