If so, we have an exciting position for you as Senior Platform Product Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the New Finance and Tax Platform (NFTP) Program. NFTP Program is an important component of Maersk’s transformation strategy to become the Global Integrator of Container Logistics.

This Program aims at changing technology, processes, policies, ways of working, as well as behaviors through the implementation of a single, industry-leading standardized finance platform. With SAP S/4HANA at the core, NFTP Program is to provide real-time, trustworthy Finance and Tax analytics through a standard and digitized model for data capturing, data reporting and data analytics in one enterprise-wide platform.

The NFTP Management Reporting team is responsible for enabling financial data and delivering financial reporting and analytics. Process standardization, process automation and data accuracy are three tenets we follow. We are also promoting new ways of working in the Finance organization by introducing new tooling capabilities.

The Senior Platform Subject Matter Expert (SME) role offers you the opportunity to work as a product owner with new business processes and new technologies.

You will have the responsibility to follow through the life cycle of a financial reporting products and you will have ample continuous learning opportunities, from hard system skills to soft people skills.

In this position, you will have access to the core financial systems of Maersk, develop deep understanding of the processes and become a master of the financial reporting. In addition, excellent organization exposures await you, because we have a large spectrum of stakeholders, ranging from Finance Execution Teams, Functional Process Owners (FPOs), to Platform Product Owners (PPOs) and Program Management Office (PMO) teams.

Being part of the digitalization transformation process and learning the financial and business processes of all Maersk Ocean and Logistic products may also open up multiple career opportunities in the future.

This position can be located in Copenhagen, Denmark as well as in Pune, India.

Key responsibilities
2024 is a critical year for NFTP program as we have planned our biggest wave of release for global Ocean business and multiple critical releases for Logistic business.

You will be responsible for clarifying business requirements and translating them into new features for management reporting.

You will work closely with stakeholders and end users to make sure the reporting products we deliver addresses business pain points and generate business values.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

  • Track user adoption and usage. Study and analyze user behaviors.
  • Understand and discover business needs and conduct user impact analysis.
  • Promote training and user learning. Collect user feedback. Drive user satisfaction
  • Drive requirement scoping with business users and process owners, including requirement solicitation, clarification, prioritization, and documentation.
  • Articulate business value and benefit case of the requirements.
  • Facilitate engineers and architects to design and decide the right technical solution.
  • Collaborate with scrum master and engineers to drive on-time delivery, e.g. tracking status and managing risks.
  • Drive testing process with business users, including test case creation, test conduction and defect handling.
  • Support business users during go-live hyper care events, including but not limited to system training, release communication and issue resolution.
  • Act as the change agent and sparring partner for users and stakeholders.
  • Reflect and learn from past experiences.
  • Define, promote, and follow best practices

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate has a Master’s degree in business/accounting/finance, or equivalent working experience combined with 5+ years hands-on working experience in a user-driven product management environment, or large application implementation projects as well as from hands-on working experience with SAP/BW, S/4HANA or BW4HANA.

You have 10+ years data reporting and analytical experience and proficiency in at least one reporting and dashboard visualization tool (e.g. SAC, Power BI).

Data or BI Software engineering exposure, or experience with MS PowerApps is a bonus as is Process excellence, Lean Management, Six Sigma experience.

Shipping or logistics and transportation experience preferred, but not a requirement.

Furthermore you:

  • Have proficiency in English language and Microsoft applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Embrace the Agile ways of working
  • Have strong conceptual abilities – able to translate complex issues into ideas and actions
  • Are passionate about addressing root causes rather than firefighting on symptoms
  • Have excellent planning and structural competencies
  • Are comfortable work with ambiguity, open minded and able to adapt quickly to changing tasks and priorities
  • Are curious and enthusiastic to learn new things
  • Have the ability to perform well on time-sensitive tasks and to multi-task without compromising quality.

As a person you have a self-starter attitude and you are able to work with minimal supervision. You enjoy working with teams of colleagues with multi-cultural background.
