BRIC’s HCCS facility is looking for a highly motivated and dynamic PhD-level cell biologist staff scientist with a curiosity for high content screening, CRISPR technologies, data analysis, and a flexible approach to interdisciplinary work.
Our research
The HCCS facility is an open access core facility providing scientific and technological support in a broad variety of high-throughput screening and high content imaging (2D and 3D) projects. The facility assists researchers all the way through their individual screening processes; the initial set-up, the performance of the screen on our robotic screening system, data acquisition on our high-content microscopes, and automated image and statistical analysis. The service portfolio is broad with a focus on high content cell-based screening utilizing CRISPR/Cas9 or small molecule chemical libraries. Your job
As a staff member of the core facility, you will be an active participant in different scientific projects that the core facility supports. We are expecting that you will provide key skills in cell biology and high-throughput cell-based assays. While working closely with the other two scientists in the facility, you will also have a range of other responsibilities, such as training of researchers, assistance in assay development, handling laboratory automation, image analysis, statistical analysis, and general project management and administrative tasks.
Emphasis will be given to candidates with a strong background in cell-based assays. Previous experience with lab automation, high throughput assays, high content imaging, image analysis, chemical screening, and CRISPR technologies is a plus. A structured, rigorous and precise approach, scientific curiosity, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the flexibility required to work in a service-oriented environment are equally important.

Place of employment
The place of employment is at BRIC, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in a dynamic and international research environment. English serves as the working language within the laboratory and BRIC as a whole. Our research facilities include modern laboratories and a number of core facilities shared between the 25 research groups at BRIC and the Finsen Laboratory. The HCCS core facility is associated with the Wennerberg research group.
Terms of salary and employment
The employment as ‘academic staff’ (AC-TAP) is a full time and fixed-term position until Dec 31, 2025. Starting date is as soon as possible, with February/March 2024 being a likely starting time. Employment will be in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). The monthly salary will be based on the number of years of work experience (seniority) with the possibility to negotiate a salary supplement based on prior experiences and qualifications. The employer will pay an additional 17.1 % to your pension fund.
