Main responsibilities as a Superintendent in DFDS.
Technical Organization
Technical Organisation is responsible for all technical management of DFDS operated vessels, which currently consists of approximately 55 RoRo Cargo and Passenger vessels, across several flags in Europe and Mediterranean.
DFDS runs a differentiated operational model, where our focus is to serve our Business Units, in order to deliver safe and efficient operation of our fleet, all serving scheduled services, which basically is to deliver the ability for execute approximately 35.000 departures yearly.
Your profile
The successful candidate has a strong leader potential with high technical knowledge from the maritime industry.
Most importantly, you must have the right social and behavioral skills to interact with various cultures and a high motivation for continuously driving improvements, by constantly maintaining focus on setting and achieving targets.

Main responsibilities as a Superintendent in DFDS.
- Ensuring the Safe and efficient technical management of a number of dedicated vessels in the fleet by continuing focus on delivering a high level of reliability and compliance, and timely follow up on improvement initiatives.
- Engagement of, and responsible for the senior management onboard, including ensuring continuous improvements, high motivation, and engagement.
- Financial planning and execution, including close follow up on Daily Running Costs.
- Analyze capital expenditures and project designs to find and implement most efficient models.
- Ensuring planning of and timely execution planned dockings, including planned improvements projects.
- Continue to analyze and develop operational methods and find efficient alternatives.
- Act as technical advisors to support the DFDS organization, which includes participation in operational due diligence and execution.

Most importantly, you must have the right social and behavioral skills to interact with various cultures and a high motivation for continuously driving improvements, by constantly maintaining focus on setting and achieving targets.
We expect the following:
- An educational background in a relevant field, i.e. as Marine Engineer, Dual Officer, or Naval Architect
- Willingness to develop leadership skills in a complex organizational setup working across countries and cultures.
- Ability to engage and lead, in a cross functional team of experts in various fields.
- Excellent IT skills.
- English language proficiencies, both written and spoken, at negotiation level.
- Not scared of engaging and take difficult decisions.
- Able to travel 50-80 days yearly, which can include for longer periods during dockings or repairs.
