The role is based at our European Headquarters in Copenhagen, on Esplanaden 50. You will have independence to shape your role and contribute to the performance of our team and company, as well as providing our customers with excellent service.
Reporting to Svitzer Europe’s Chief Commercial Officer, this position offers an opportunity to be part of a highly engaged team and learn about our way of doing business by keeping customers at the very center of what we do. The team sits in Copenhagen, Sweden, UK and the Netherlands so our way of working is highly flexible and virtual, but when we do get the chance we will make sure to meet up and connect in-person.
Work hours are flexible, especially around examination periods. We expect you to work approximately 15-20hours per week on average.

As a student assistant in Svitzer Europe Commercial Team, you will be working closely with colleagues in Copenhagen and across Europe to deliver the following main responsibilities:
• Assist with the preparation of the Rolling Forecast, by preparing data views and slides for our target setting package to Svitzer Global Headquarters
• Prepare volume and revenue analyses for all ports in Europe to make pricing recommendations
• Undertake deep dive analysis into suggested structural changes to tariff to inform decision making
• Update the standard tariff sheet including content, terms and conditions, as well as layout and design
• Prepare port share overviews on a weekly basis
• Prepare analyses of competitors on ad hoc basis
• Carry-out part of the strategic projects, in areas such as Customer Satisfaction, and Data to Revenue
• Assist with BDV projects including financial modelling, business cases and market size estimates
• Other ad-hoc tasks both within and outside of Commercial

You are responsible and comfortable operating independently, take pride in delivering high quality work and keen to learn through working closely together with colleagues in- and outside of Commercial
You demonstrate strong analytical skills, and others would recognize you as methodical and data-driven individual, with above-average attention to detail.
Ideally you have completed or are entering your last year of Bachelor studies, or are at the initial stages of your Master studies in Business, Finance, Economics, Sales or a related field. Furthermore, you will possess:
• A customer-centric mindset
• Independence, humbleness and ability to prioritize
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills in English (Danish is not a requirement for this position)
• Advanced ability to work with Office 365 applications such as PowerPoint and Excel
