We are looking for a Global Media Relations Manager to join the Group Communications Team
You may have seen that DFDS have just purchased 100 electric Volvo trucks or that we have the ambition to operate the first carbon neutral ship running from 2025. Or perhaps you have seen the launch of the Humber Express, the first UK intermodal train service for DFDS? In fact, we have so much to shout about we’re increasing our team who develop and execute media, digital, and social media initiatives, leadership and internal communications, aiming to improve DFDS’ reputation and support our business strategy.
Reporting to the Head of Group Communications, you’ll be working in the current team of 7. We’ll need you to drive proactive media engagement and set agendas in the UK, French, Holland and German markets on a wide range of communications showing the great work which is being carried out across DFDS. You’ll be handling daily press enquiries and preparing and training spokespeople within our business. We’ll need you to pitch stories to media in key markets and ensure that the correct messages and company images are upheld.

- Develop a network of relevant media and reporters across Europe
- Develop key messages and press releases
- Handle daily press inquiries
- Pitch stories to media in key markets
- Develop and drive international press day
- Develop the DFDS.com media hub on
- Prepare and train spokespeople
- Advise executives on media issues to protect the company’s reputation and image
- Act as chief editor for DFDS’ global news
- Drive and develop issue management
The ideal candidate
- Has +8 years of experience working with media and editorial content
- Has native - or close to native - English writing skills
- Has an excellent media network of UK journalists
- Likes to develop and pitch exciting stories to the media
- Enjoys building relations and talking to journalists every day
- Has substantial stakeholder management experience and likes working with a broad range of stakeholders; externally as well as internally
- Love to work in a team and have fun while doing it
