Do you want to join a new, dynamic team that is responsible for growing and transforming DFDS’s Logistics business through digitalization and standardization with close oversight from the DFDS’s executive suite? Do you wish to grow your skills as a project manager by learning the top-tier management consulting toolbox? The Junior Project Manager supports various projects and runs analyses in the areas of digital business strategy, development and partnership, pricing, and operations digitalization as well as standardization.
This job is a unique opportunity to help build a new digital business within Logistics and transform DFDS through digitalization and standardization. You will develop best-in-class project management skills as well as relations to DFDS executives. You will get coaching from team members with top-tier management consultant skills.
As Junior Project Manager you will develop knowledge of digital freight, which is the future of the Transport and Logistics industry. At the same time, you will work in a dynamic, ambitious team in an Agile, start-up-like environment. In this process you will develop data analysis, project management and executive communication skills as well as business acumen.
The team is a diverse team from the Logistics division and the Technology & Innovation division. It provides updates to DFDS’s executive suite on a quarterly basis. You will be collaborating with your manager and peers in an open communication form and in the acknowledgement that everybody brings their own personality, experience, and skills to the table with a passion for transforming DFDS and building a new digital business.
The Junior Project Manager will have the following main responsibilities:
In addition to this, the Junior Project Manager will manage stakeholders e.g. local Logistics offices, and help rolling out digitalization and standardization initiatives by interacting with customers and local operational teams.
You are a students from Copenhagen Business School’s Bachelor of Science program in International Shipping and Trade and ready for an internship in September 2023. You are pro-active in identifying and understanding data sources and solutions to collect data. You are organized and structured when approaching new projects and tasks, and you have good stakeholder management skills such as listening and interviewing skills. You are also willing to take on hands-on tasks, such as calling customers to win new business when necessary, and you have the start-up mindset that you will sometimes need to pick up tasks on the fly. Proficiency in Excel and Tableau is preferred or the ability to learn fast. Strong interest for the Logistics industry is also preferred. Good communication skills are a must.
We are looking for an outgoing person with a passion for change and business development as well as an out-of-the box thinker that delivers high quality output on time. Also, you should be willing to learn and develop project management skills

Main responsibilities

- Run or support projects in various areas of the department, e.g. online customer conversion rate boost or shipment tracking expansion
- Perform and present ad-hoc analyses in various other areas, e.g. pricing, operations and commercial business cases
- Prepare presentations for key stakeholders at all levels of the company including executive suite
