Can you apply helicopter perspective across multiple product management areas ?
If you have solid industry knowledge from the video surveillance/security industry and you are looking for an opportunity to work more strategic and holistic with product management, we have just the perfect job for you. At Milestone you will join a leading global provider of IP Video Management Systems. As a global company with Scandinavian heritage we continue our 20+ years of continuous growth and expect employee #1,000 to be joining us in a nearby future. However, in many ways we still think and act like a start-up. We get the idea and we act on it, but as the complexity of the business grows we need to add more helicopter perspective, and that is what we need you to do.
Drive the building of a coherent product strategy
At Milestone, our Product Managers focus on specific parts of the business, e.g. online business and video management software (VMS). Your overall objective will be to ensure the red thread across all product management activities and as part of this support/drive standardization and sharing of best practises. Your focus is basically to answer the question: How can Milestone continue to stand apart as a company that addresses different customer needs across different market segments? Your primary tasks will be to:
- Build knowledge of activities, value propositions etc. across all product management areas
- Identify patterns and best practises to found the building of a long-term value proposition and competitive differentiation in the market
- Be the driver of building a coherent product strategy across our product offerings, roadmap, platform life cycle, development prioritizations and direction setting
- Explore market and technology opportunities
- Define and plan world-class products during the early product creation (concepting) phase
To succeed, you must work closely together with the Team Manager and all your Product Manager colleagues. Just as important, you must nurture and manage a large number of internal and external stakeholders. Internally, the sales organization, R&D, Product Marketing, and our Technology Partner team. Externally, the Milestone End-customers and key strategic Technology Platform Partners. You can look forward to approx. 25 global travel days per (in non-Corona times).
5+ years’ industry knowledge from the video surveillance/security industry
We are looking for a senior tech profile with the necessary experience and business acumen to apply a helicopter perspective across multiple areas and initiatives. As such, you must like to take lead, and you do not wait for others to get you going. At the same time, you like to create results based on a shared effort where the focus is to get the right idea, not who came up with it. As part of this it, is natural part of your work to listen more than you talk, and you do so with curiosity and respect for the people you address. Additionally, your CV comprises:
- 5+ years’ industry knowledge from the video surveillance/security industry – mandatory!
- Solid product management experience from an international high-tech company
- A proven track record of managing all aspects of product life cycle
- Experience from working with business modelling – including Cloud and Software-as-a-Service
- Experience in agile methods
- Good English and communication/presentation skills, written and spoken

You will join our skilled and dedicated product management team at the Milestone HQ in Brøndby, Copenhagen. Our overall focus is to create the same high-level desirability for the Milestone product and technology platform no matter if you are a partner, an end-user or a developer.
