Xellia Pharmaceuticals (a company owned by Novo Holdings A/S) is looking for a colleague to join our headquarters’ Corporate Legal, Risk & Compliance team in Copenhagen. The position is a great opportunity for you, who wants to work with corporate compliance programs in a global pharmaceutical company. As Corporate Compliance Associate, you will assist in the continued development of our company’s Corporate Compliance programs and you will build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management.

The job
Your primary areas of responsibility will be to drive the implementation of relevant corporate compliance policies and initiatives, including within Anti-bribery, Trade Control (sanctions and export control), Data Privacy (GDPR), Whistleblower System, Code of Conduct, and areas of relevance to the pharmaceutical industry.

As part of the Corporate Legal, Risk & Compliance team, this role includes an opportunity – depending on your experience and aspirations – to work with various other legal areas such as corporate law matters, competition law, intellectual property, claims and disputes, corporate governance, and enterprise risk management etc.

You will specifically be responsible for:

  • Driving annual cycles and coordinating ad-hoc activities as set out in Xellia’s established corporate compliance programs.
  • Plan and perform risk-assessments and deliver advice within the different compliance areas and based on these, execute necessary actions, including performing relevant compliance training and ensure awareness in the organization.
  • Facilitate and ensure that Xellia‘s compliance databases are kept up to date for appropriate recordkeeping.
  • Together with a cross-functional team, develop GDPR-related initiatives, such as templates, training material, and driving Xellia’s Data Privacy Committee.
  • Drive various compliance and training projects independently – from start to end – liaising and collaborating with various stakeholders across Xellia.
  • Perform various ad-hoc corporate housekeeping tasks, including updating and maintaining Legal’s intranet site.
  • With a desire to learn, you will act in the field between commercial interest and legal compliance. Thus, a sound business judgment and strategic thinking, and the ability to work independently is needed, together with a collaborative approach to problem solving.

The team
The Legal team consists of 12 colleagues across Copenhagen, Oslo, Zagreb, and the United States, working closely together in an informal and knowledge-sharing environment. You will be part of a growing global company under constant development. We work closely together, help each other out and appreciate an informal and humorous tone.

Your qualifications and experience
We are looking for a skilled and independently working person who understands how to prioritize and accomplish tasks with a high degree of quality and attention to detail.

As the right candidate, you have:

  • Strong interest in corporate compliance and the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Excellent analytical skills and a solid academic platform.
  • High integrity and great social skills.
  • Ability in managing and driving projects.
  • Excellent written and oral English skills.
  • A proactive can-do attitude.
  • You are outspoken as a person and have a strong desire to learn about corporate compliance.
  • You are able to work in a global, multi-cultural and diverse work environment.

Academic background and work experience:

  • You hold a master’s degree in Law, MSc in Business Administration and Commercial Law or other relevant degree.
  • You may have a bar exam or years of relevant experience and looking for an opportunity with flexible working hours.
  • Experience within the area of corporate compliance or risk management is an advantage.
