We are on the lookout for an innovative and enthusiastic Senior Research Scientist for our growing Research team in R&D at Novo Nordisk Pharmatech (NNPR) in Køge, Denmark. The position As a Development Scientist at NNPR, you’ll dive headfirst into thrilling R&D initiatives, taking projects from concept to completion. Your mission, will be multifaceted, with a primary focus on organic synthesis, idea brainstorming, troubleshooting, and spending significant time in the lab. This is an exciting opportunity to work on groundbreaking projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, and contribute to the development of next-generation materials. Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, conduct, and analyze experiments to develop new products and improve existing ones.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve synthetic challenges, proposing alternative strategies when necessary.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in organic chemistry and apply this knowledge to drive innovation.
  • Mentor and train junior chemists and lab technicians, fostering a collaborative and educational environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory guidelines within the laboratory.
  • Participate in project planning and management, including setting timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and quality assurance.
  • Prepare technical reports, and presentations, to showcase your research findings.
    • Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate for this position has:
  • A PhD in Organic synthetic chemistry or a related field, and a background in experimental organic chemistry.
  • Proven experience in a laboratory setting with practical, hands-on assignments.
  • Experience in scaling up processes from laboratory to production scale is an advantage but not a requirement.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant laboratory environment.
  • Experience in writing technical reports, publications, and contributing to patent applications.
  • Effective collaborator with strong communication and project management skills, capable of working seamlessly with cross-functional teams such as R&D, production, and quality assurance.

About the department As scientist in R&D Research you will be part of the innovation of new products. The department consist of 16 highly motivated and skilled scientists and laboratory technicians, divided into two teams. Our research team is dedicated to pioneering and advancing products specifically designed for affinity resin applications. We work closely with the R&D Manufacturing Development teams and the New Product Marketing team as well as several close collaborators at Novo Nordisk.
