Process Safety Engineer


Green Hydrogen Systems is ready to take on a position as one of the world’s leaders in developing and producing electrolysis plants that use electricity from renewable energy and water to produce green hydrogen.

We are on an exciting journey and currently developing our second generation of electrolysers with increased production capacity on the mission to meet the increasing demand for hydrogen. We need you to contribute to developing our process safety culture and to ensure that we reach the safety and documentation requirements set for our products.

Hydrogen process safety is a young branch of process safety where international standards are not yet established providing you with the chance to be part of shaping a whole new field.

Primary Responsibilities
In the position as Process Safety Engineer, you will join our Process Safety team that together with our Compliance department ensures compliant and safe electrolysers during our products’ full lifecycle. You will report directly to the head of Process Safety.

In this role, you will take responsibility for

  • Process measures and safety/control barriers contributing to a safe and successful transition to a greener future
  • Identification and documentation of process hazards and risks, using PHRA tools such as HAZOP and HAZID
  • Evaluate identified risks applying risk management techniques
  • Manage identified risks in follow-ups, exercising a lifecycle approach acting as risk owner
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings acting as the go-to internal risk expert
  • Engage in the development process in a central role ensuring a safe design
  • Build process safety knowledge within electrolysis


Qualifications and Experience
We expect you to have knowledge of various risk assessment methods, preferably with chairman experience and safety systems. You have a background in process or chemical engineering or similar enabling you to effectively understand and treat process safety risks of our electrolysers. Furthermore, it is desirable, but not obligatory, if you are familiar with process safety related standards and directives and have experience within the hydrogen and gas industry.

Personally, you have a structured way of working and an ability to keep an overview of many issues. This is required in this role due to the complexity and scope of process safety risks. You can manoeuvre in workshop debates with your constructive conflict resolution skills and are easy to cooperate with. It is natural for you to be in front and be proactive in your evaluation and follow-up procedures in a dynamic and changeable environment. You master English at a professional level both in writing and verbally and have strong interpersonal skills. Danish language skills are an advantage.

The position is full time, and we would like for you to start as soon as possible. We will offer a salary that is according to the nature of the position, requirements, and background. Pension scheme and health insurance are also part of the salary package.
