Kongens Lyngby
Join us on our ambitious research journey at The Hempel Foundation Coatings Science and Technology Research Center (CoaST) at Denmark Technical University (DTU), as we actively seek candidates for a fully funded PhD position focused on "Polymeric Approaches with Bio-Based Materials for Applications in Coatings."
As a lead contributor to this project, you will be instrumental in investigating the efficacy of bio-based materials as binders, crosslinkers, and functional pigments within coatings. Your responsibility will include formulating and optimizing coatings that capitalize on the surface functionalization methodologies, chemical modification approaches, and exploring the fundamentals between polymeric and bio-based components.
The primary objective of this research is to design and optimize bio-based coatings with a distinct departure from traditional counterparts, involving but not limited to anticorrosion mechanisms. A central focus will be on exploring and comparing the fundamentals and degradation pathways between bio-based coatings and traditional ones. Your contribution will be vital in implementing advanced characterization techniques to decode how bio-based ingredients interact differently than their fossil-based counterparts, ultimately enhancing the performance of the coatings.
Join us in influencing the future of coating technology, where eco-friendly and high-performance solutions are led by bio-based materials.
Why Join Us?
At CoaST, we are committed to addressing the global challenges of coating technologies with a focus on sustainability.
