Are you excited about working with modern technologies providing our Research and Early Development (R&ED) units with the IT platforms they need to conduct highly advanced scientific computing and analytics? We are now looking for our new Senior System Engineer as part of our Infrastructural Research & Early Development Application Team (R&ED Apps). In this team, we are responsible for developing, implementing, operating, maintaining, and supporting the data, middleware and IT infrastructure used across Novo Nordisk R&ED on-premises and/or in the cloud. You will work within a scrum team dealing with (data) scientists and IT vendors, which will require a good level of collaborative skills and cooperation. As a Senior System Engineer, you will get to work closely with scientists and architects to understand the business needs. You will among other things be responsible for:
  • Providing an infrastructural environment on-premises or in the cloud
  • Building the platform, including integration and automation – to create and provide automated deployment
  • Maintaining the platform and solutions
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions and resolve issues
  • Participating in the Agile journey, including weekly stand-ups, PI Planning etc.

In addition to this, we believe our next colleague will be able to tick off most of the following:
  • +5 years of experience and proficiency within IT infrastructure and/or system engineering
  • Experience with Linux / Bash
  • Familiarity with scripting like Python, Perl or similar
  • Experience with stakeholder management
  • A bachelor’s degree with a large focus on IT systems engineering and/or Scientific Computing or similar
    • You find it important to ensure stable platforms and infrastructural environment. You are not afraid to challenge status quo and to share your ideas for improving. You are a quick learner and excited to work with modern technologies and concepts. You are team-oriented and service-minded. Finally, you have professional proficiency in written and spoken English.   • IaC – Configuration/Infrastructure as code
  • Containerisation (Docker / OCI)
  • Cloud environment (AWS & Azure)
  • DevOps CI/CD
  • AD (Active Directory) / SSO
