Are you passionate about pushing the limits of Microsoft cloud technologies? Would you like to venture further in your Azure journey in an organization with high ambitions and where only the sky is the limit?
In a newly established role as Cloud Infrastructure Lead, you and your colleagues will help to ensure that Ascendis’ Azure setup supports the key business use cases. You will be taking a long-term strategic view on how this platform can support Ascendis in the future.
You will join Ascendis Pharma Global IT, together with 40+ colleagues in California, Germany, and Denmark. Azure is a vital offering from Global IT and serves as a component in Ascendis’ ERP, data platform, and productivity applications. It will be your responsibility to help define and lead the strategic application of the future cloud setup e.g., looking into Azure evolving into the platform for integration and hosting.
You will, in short, be part of the team making sure that Ascendis’ setup is ready for current and future ambitions for the platform.
Ascendis has a cloud-first strategy and zero-legacy with room for experimentation and a chance for you to set your mark on how things are done for the next 3-4 years.
With direct report to Director, Global Business IT.
Your main tasks are:
Your qualifications can be varied in order to be applicable for this position. Ideally, you have worked as a cloud consultant for 2-3 years and are looking to advance your career into a more continuous engineering lead role. Ideally, you have worked with regulated data from a biotech, pharmaceutical company, or consultancy catering to the pharmaceutical industry.
You have a Master’s degree in Cand. IT or something completely different. Most importantly, you have experience working with cloud solutions and have an ambitious way of thinking, on behalf of yourself and the solutions.
You are a person with a strong drive and you are eager to learn. You do not shy away from responsibility and you are more concerned about the results of your team than your individual succes. You think on your feet and keep your composure when things move quickly. Finally, you have a good sense of humor and want to work across time-zones and cultures.
Ascendis Pharma offers you an exciting and challenging position in an entrepreneurial and international company with a short line of command. You will be involved in activities that are central to Ascendis Pharma’s strategy and work with highly skilled and experienced colleagues on advancing an exciting product pipeline.
Travelling: Approx. 10-20 days a year.
Domicile: Ascendis Pharma resides in a wonderful office facility in Tuborg Havn in Hellerup with a view of the harbour, the canals, and the sea. Ascendis Pharma also has facilities in Heidelberg, Germany and Palo Alto, USA.

- Establish the cloud governance and security framework for Ascendis’ Azure setup
- Overall Azure Management, monitor consumption, and cost management, selecting the right Azure service pricing model for the right purpose, and optimize the agreement with Microsoft
- Use your stakeholder management skills to understand the organizations’ needs and make sure that the Azure and Microsoft 365 roadmaps fit into the short and long-term strategic goals
- Collaborate with internal and external resources to ensure that Ascendis’ operational Azure environment is reliable and robust
- Participate in business projects and epics to ensure Azure readiness to support the solutions
- Teach about and showcase Azure capabilities to the product teams serving business value streams
