JOIN OUR GEOTECHNICAL SECTION IN LYNGBY
Our involvement in multiple geotechnical engineering projects spans the entire lifecycle of a structure ranging from consultancy relating to a specific issue to comprehensive planning and total engineering design and implementation. The geotechnical engineering projects include by many others marine structures, construction pits for tunnel structures, bridge foundations, land reclamation, soil treatment, etc.
At the moment and in the upcoming future we are facing a high activity with new very exciting and interesting projects.
With a full set of world-class competencies within geotechnical engineering combined with local presence and experience, our more than 300 dedicated geotechnical colleagues from all around the world are ready to take on the most complex projects anywhere in the world – no matter how large or small. We manage our projects in close collaboration with offices located in Scandinavia, UK, Germany, India, SE Asia and North America. Your nearest colleagues will include +35 highly skilled geotechnical engineers and geologists.

In this position, you will join our team of geotechnical experts and work closely with colleagues from all areas of COWI International.
Your skills will influence the end-result and thus benefit the client. Our geotechnical team paves the way for some of the best practice approaches adopted across the company, and you will be working together with the rest of the team to achieve this. The team consists of engineers located in different offices who bring skills, passion and enjoy team working.

On a day-to-day basis, you will:
- Provide leadership and expertise to the project team and manage the internal competence development.
- Be responsible for managing projects from feasibility to detailed design, including all technical, programme and cost monitoring. Checking and ensuring that design and assessments are in accordance with the current Standards, Codes of Practice, and Best Practice.
- Manage and work across interfaces with other disciplines
- Be able to influence your own development plan in close dialog with your Head of Section
Further you will:
- Mentor less experienced project managers
- Build customer relations and utilise business potential
- Ensure optimal use of distributed work
- Ensure customer satisfaction

You are experienced working in all phases of a project and working with contractors. Also:
- Hold at least a B.Sc in Geotechnical and/or Civil Engineering
- +5 years of experience within the field of geotechnical (and preferably structural) design
- Excellent project manager skills and strong communication skills
- Experience within specification of geotechnical field and laboratory testing together with preparation of geotechnical interpretative reports
- Experience within geotechnical (and preferably structural) design of shallow and deep foundations, retaining walls, embankments, piled foundations, harbour structures, etc.
