KEY ROLE AS OHS LEAD
In 2020, the Danish part of COWI's business decided to strengthen all aspects of OH&S on a strategic level by obtaining an ISO 45001:2018 certification.
Part of your job will be to ensure a steady course and a deeper integration of our management system into business processes and culture.
You will make use of your experience within Danish Health & Safety legislation and perhaps your experience in the construction or environmental research industry to drive and improve our management system and healthy and safe work practices.
As close collaboration partners, you will have the Process and Quality management organisation, the Health & Safety Organisation and our People team.

- Be outgoing and proactive, have a can-do attitude, a strong drive, work independently and have the overview to plan, manage and complete your projects and tasks
- Have a mindset for both strategy and operations
- Have personal drive and ability to take initiative and motivate others, have excellent communication skills and are fluent in written and spoken Danish and English.
As the OH&S Lead in COWI A/S, Denmark you will :
- Set the direction and drive the continuous OH&S development together with the Health & Safety Organisation consisting of 14 OH&S groups with employee and management representatives, spread across our regional offices. Thus, together ensuring that we are always law compliant and that the almost 3000 employees in Denmark have healthy and safe work conditions
- Ensure the overall effectiveness and continuous integration into business processes of the Group Integrated Management System Run the Danish OH&S management system day-to-day and manage improvement projects, e.g. accident prevention projects, development of safety training, stress-relief initiatives
- At times you would be required to run system improvement projects across country borders on group level in order to ensure alignment
- Ensure that health and safety stay high on the agenda among all levels of the organisation
- Develop and maintain a program of OH&S training for managers and employees and support the organisation and communicate about OH&S matters in general
Furthermore,
- You need to hold master's degree with 5+ years of experience within OH&S.
- You have experience in developing strategy and goals within OH&S in international organisations.
- You have experience with implementing, maintaining and further developing an OH&S management system including management reviews, objective setting, process descriptions, communication and training etc.
- You have profound experience in ensuring legal compliance with Danish Health & Safety regulations.
- You have understanding of OH&S elements such as hazardous work, physical working environment, psychosocial well-being and emergency preparedness. Experience with on-site or field engineering work is an advantage. Experience with ISO 45001 as well as ISO 9001 and IS0 14001 is a plus
