Blue Ocean Robotics – a Robot Venture Factory in Odense, Denmark – develop and build mobile service robots within the health, hotel, construction and agriculture sector. For example the disinfection robot UVD Robots and the patient moving robot Multi-Tower. Blue Ocean Robotics supply all our venture companies, who are selling the service robots, with high quality robots on-time in a volume that is about to scale.
Blue Ocean Robotics has acquired all assets and IP licenses belonging to the Beam business from Suitable Technologies, Inc. based in Palo Alto, Silicon Valley. The acquisition is subject to final approval in the USA. Blue Ocean Robotics will then be developing and producing the Beam robots, and Beam Robots ApS will be doing marketing, sales, support and servicing of customers and resellers around the world.
Beam Robots Aps is now the world’s leading company in telepresence robots, and we have sold more than 1.000 Beams and has more than 20 resellers around the world. In total there are more than 2.500 customers worldwide, 7.500 Beams installed and more than 160.000 users of the robots.
The Beam robot is a remotely operated mobile robot enabling people to communicate via screens, cameras and microphones while at the same time enabling people to navigate and being mobile at remote locations. Such a type of robot is referred to as a “telepresence robot” as it enables the users to be present at remote locations while communicating with other people and being mobile at specific sites all over the world.
We are therefore looking for a TechOps Engineer with some years of experience, who can join us.The new position in Blue Ocean Robotics as TechOps Engineer will architect, design, implement and maintain highly scalable distributed systems that provide availability, scalability and performance guarantees in the cloud.
As TechOps Engineer in Blue Ocean Robotics, you will focus on incident follow up, capacity management, monitoring systems, support tasks and infrastructure planning and setup to make sure that our development and support systems is always available and bring true value to our customers. You will be working with highly experienced colleagues and an extraordinary engineering team.
Your profile
We expect some years of experience and a proven track record as TechOps Engineer, SRE or System Administration from a relevant industry. Your background is most likely in Computer Science and you may have a Bachelor's or Master's Degree.

As a person you are self propelled, getting-things-done oriented, systematic, analytical but yet pragmatic, and you are not afraid of challenging targets and KPIs. You are data focussed and documentation and digitally oriented with a strong ability to manage everyday challenges in a robot venture factory, which is one of a kind in the world.
The candidate will work at our Odense HQ and interface with developers in Barcelona and Copenhagen.

- Coturn (STUN/TURN) server setup and maintenance
- Node.js microservices
- Nginx, HAProxy
- Django/Python
- Monitoring servers and related tools
- Maintaining backup routines
- Strong Scripting skills
Nice to have experience:
- XMPP server (jabber2)
- Containerization technologies (Docker)
