Reporting to Ole Asboe Jørgensen, President of HIG, the SVP, Portfolio & Program Management (SVP, P&PM) will be a key driver in the leadership team, Hearing Instrument Management Group (HIMG), in shaping the portfolio strategy and ensure its execution globally through the Program Management.

The main tasks will include leadership on strategical and tactical level of approx. 45 people, including budgeting, cost control and resource allocation. In addition, strategizing and deployment in your own group and ensuring organizational change management and communication. Tasks will also entail risk management, and daily people management (staffing decisions). This is a key position within HIG, and the new SVP, P&PM will be the ‘glue’ between R&D and the commercial organization, including brands and global marketing.

The purpose of the SVP, P&PM role is to deliver easy-to-sell solutions to the market in a continuous and predictable manner:

Solution Management



  • Solution portfolio management across Vision, Strategies and Execution from cradle to grave.
  • Solution Management balancing outside-in & inside-out insights (customer journey pain points, users, brands, competitors, trends, technology enablers, value chain) delivered within the SAFE framework (Strategic themes, epics etc.)
  • Define and maintain clear product roadmaps that balances innovation with available resources
  • Product business case creation and ownership
  • Product lifecycle management after M5 including optimal phase out planning


Program management

  • Lead Product/Solution and other programs covering ART’s and teams from HIG, Operations and IT to ensure launches on time, in flawless quality and in line with business case
  • From time to time coordinate IP efforts as part of LEAN business methodology in areas of special strategic importance

Insight Management

  • Direct delivery of insights within areas of users, customers, competitors and markets to enable insights focused analysis and decision making.
  • Own, maintain and deploy BtB customer journey description as a tool to ensure all our BtB activites are customer insights based

Areas of responsibilities will also include:

  • Transition to SAFe
  • InMarket management
  • Phase-out analysis, planning and steering
  • RMB (Roadmap Management Board), SHB (Scope Handover Board), PDB (Program Decision Board) governance
  • Product program milestone governance, including business case review
  • P&PM operating model
  • P&PM budget and expenses
  • P&PM Strategy and process
  • Change projects within P&PM and HIG


Candidate Profile

The qualified candidate is a sharp, strategic and creative executive with a relevant background and experience in portfolio, product and program management; someone who is highly customer-focused and has the insights to anticipate market needs. You are highly strategic and has the vision and ability to integrate and commercialize product innovation. You are capable of striking the right balance between innovation and capacity and finding solutions when deliveries are challenged.

Educated to a degree level, ideally with a combination of a M.Sc. in Engineering and an MBA, this person will be responsible and accountable for end-to-end portfolio and program management as well as post-launch performance.

Business knowledge

  • A proven global experience with within product and portfolio management from the med-tech, diagnostics and medico or technology world.
  • Commercial and technical knowledge of complex products and an extensive previous experience with of customer-focused service delivery.


Setting Strategy

  • Market experience with a clear understanding of the different routes to market and the value of how the product portfolio can generate additional value.
  • Understanding of the market and ability to plan whilst understanding wider implications of actions.

Executing for Results

  • Experience in developing and enhancing a product portfolio.
  • Experience with process development/continuous improvements and change management.

Leading Teams

  • Exemplary team development and leadership with sensitivity to multiple cultures and environments often operating in a network/matrix environment.
  • Ability to retain key talent and knowledge within the product management organization, which essentially commercializes innovation, and ability to attract needed talent for future needs.


Relationships and Influence

  • Positive influencing skills and a clear and concise communicator who can cut through complex issues, create an action plan and create buy-in and support from colleagues, subordinates and other stakeholders.
  • From a personality point of view, we are looking for a leader, team builder and real team player. A person with a commercial mindset; someone who is self-starting and has a high implementation capacity. You are able to perform in demanding periods and prioritize short- and long-term.
  • We are looking for excellent interpersonal skills; someone who can create a positive momentum in P&PMLT as well as with P&PM stakeholders centrally and globally, who can work in an informal, non-hierarchical value-based organization where network, building relationships and using influence are key criteria for growth.

Location

  • The SVP, P&PM will be located at HQ in Smørum, Denmark.
