European Energy is a Danish privately owned company in rapid growth. We cover all phases of wind and photovoltaic (PV) solar projects, from early development to operation and in some cases divestment of assets as well as Power-to-X. Our company of +450 employees has since 2004 installed more than 2.0 GW of renewable energy. We operate globally and employ 30 different nationalities at our HQ in Copenhagen and our offices in 16 other locations, primarily in Europe. Our vision is to be a major global presence in guiding the green transition and create the power of tomorrow, today.
In the role as ESG Manager you will be part of our Business Development team with three motivated colleagues and have a close interaction with colleagues in the entire organization.
You will get the opportunity to shape how European Energy can deliver Solar PV, Wind, and Power-to-X projects in a sustainable way across its portfolio. This includes ensuring the compliance of renewable energy projects with international standards and assisting in the dialogue with lenders.

Areas of responsibility
- Take part in defining European Energy’s ESG strategy and initiatives including coordinating selected initiatives across the organization
- Ensure the compliance of renewable energy projects with international standards such as Equator Principles, IFC Performance Standards (PS) and EBRD Performance Requirements (PR) and assist in the dialogue with lenders
- Lead risk assessments and the development and coordination of Environmental and Social Action Plans (ESAPs) at project-level
- Support the execution of relevant plans included in ESAPs e.g., Stakeholder Engagement Plans, Waste Management Plan etc.
- Ensure alignment and communication between different departments
Your profile
- You have a university degree in environmental or social sciences
- You have knowledge of the implementation of international standards (IFC, EBRD, Equator Principles) in renewable energy projects
- You have project management experience within a complex and international environment, and you are used to managing elaborate projects at the same time
- You have great oral and written communication skills in English
- You are good at aligning and engaging with different stakeholders
- You are a problem-solver with a can-do attitude
