As we have embarked on a transformation journey to build our Next Generation Data Infrastructure, w e are seeking a dedicated Product Owner for Data Governance Tooling, a key role that sits at the heart of our transformative data governance initiatives. The position As part of the transformational program responsible for a central data repository, your collaboration with the platform architecture team and business units within Development will be crucial. This role demands a close relationship with the technology teams but also requires a deep understanding of business objectives to ensure that our data governance tools are not just operational, but effectively aligned with our digital transformation goals. In navigating these dynamics, you will be instrumental in guiding the development, implementation and operationalisation of Data Governance Tools, significantly impacting the journey of Development towards a data-driven future. In this role, you will not only engage with the technology aspects of data governance, such as data quality management, data catalogues and policy engines, but also play a critical role in integrating these tools within our broader data governance framework. Your work will be essential in managing, protecting, and ensuring the quality of data across the organization. Your key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
  • Lead Integration and Collaboration for Data Governance Tooling: Direct the development and implementation of data governance tools within Development. This role involves orchestrating effective collaboration between technical teams and business units to integrate these tools seamlessly across Development.
  • Simplify and Communicate Tecnology Concepts: Effectively communicate the complexities in Data Governance tools such as metastores, policy engines, data catalogues, and identity providers, making them accessible and relevant to both technical- and business audiences.
  • Steer Change Management with a Tooling Focus: Guide change management activities with a specific focus on the tolling aspects, especially around the adoption and operationalization of data governance tools. Ensure these activities are in line with business objectives, fostering clarity and stakeholder engagement.
  • Align Data Governance Tools with Strategic Business Objectives: Tailor the deployment and development of data governance tools to align with the evolving business landscape and strategic goals of Development. Your role ensures that these tools are not only technically sound but also strategically relevant.
  • Set and Drive Data Governance Tools Agenda in Business Domains : Take the lead in establishing and progressing the technical agenda for data governance tools within specific business domains. Your focus will be on developing solutions that respond precisely to the unique needs and challenges of these areas.
  • Qualifications:
  • Possess a master's degree in a relevant technical field with min 5 years of experience
  • Demonstrate a profound understanding of data management and data governance principles and concepts.
  • Exhibit substantial hands-on technical implementation experience with Data Management and Data Governance, ideally in a leading role.
  • Display familiarity with cutting-edge data-related technologies such as Data Management, Data Catalog, and Data Quality Management.
  • Showcase experience in state-of the art data platform providers (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake) as well as experience in key data architectural concepts (e.g., data mesh, data products).
  • Previous exposure to technical data management & governance solutions (e.g., Microsoft Purview & Entra ID, Policy Engines, Informatica, Collibra, etc.) is advantageous.
  • A passion for building and scaling digital products from problem discovery to realized benefits
  • Positive, solution-oriented mindset with an interest in process optimization and IT system development
  • Demonstrated experience in working within an agile, one-team scrum setting and teams-of-teams structure, showcasing the ability to navigate and thrive in dynamic, cross-functional environments.

The department is anchored in Data Science (Development) with 800+ employees – across Denmark, Spain, India, and North America, delivering to the wide Novo Nordisk Development pipeline. You will be part of a larger program organisation with cross-functional team members, all working closely together towards our shared vision of transforming our data infrastructure to the benefit of patients in need for innovative treatment solutions.
