IT Operations Specialist at Nordisk Film Cinemas



Movies must be seen in the cinema on the grand screen! At Nordisk Film Cinemas, our mission is to constantly develop and improve the cinema experience for all film lovers across our cinemas in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden.

As an IT professional at Nordisk Film Cinemas, you will be part of our IT Operations team, which is responsible for the operation, support, and optimization of all Nordisk Film Cinemas’ IT infrastructure with a focus on network and servers. Additionally, we provide support for all the cinema users via telephone or our service desk. This prompts a close work relationship with our two other IT departments; Digital Channels, which manages our web and app, and Ticket Solutions, which is responsible for our ambitious ticket system.

This is a unique opportunity to join the market-leading cinema in Denmark and Norway, which welcomes approximately 10 million guests to our cinemas every year. Your primary workplace is Nordisk Film’s very iconic working environment in Valby, where you will be referring to the Head of IT Operations, Christian Andreassen.

Primary responsibilities and tasks
Your work tasks will be to support our approx. 1500 users & 45 cinemas in DK, NO & SE, and the daily operation/administration of our other systems that our guests use to buy tickets.

Furthermore, it is expected that you:

  • in collaboration with your other colleagues in IT, handle our IT service for the end-users
  • assist with Service Delivery including direct management of tasks with our many suppliers and partners
  • perform server administration
  • is part of the team’s on-call duty roster by the schedule
  • participate in IT projects, both nationwide in Denmark and across Norway and Sweden

Your qualifications
It is expected that you have an educational background as an IT supporter, data technician, or similar and that you possess a high level of IT theoretical knowledge, preferably supplemented with practical experience. As a person, you are service-minded, and you appreciate delivering high-quality work in due time. You excel at identifying solution alternatives and understand the importance of documenting your work. In addition, you are a good communicator who has experience across various business functions. Other emphasized competencies that we look for are:

  • the ability to communicate in Danish and English. Understanding Norwegian and Swedish is a great advantage
  • drive smaller projects on your own
  • the capability to thrive in a high paced environment with adaptability to sudden reprioritizations

Professionally and systematically, you have knowledge of:

  • support for end-users and thereby also being on-call duty
  • operation of Windows / Linux servers
  • on-prem AD / Azure AD
  • cloud services such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services
  • data network in terms of constructing and segmentation
  • basic firewall knowledge

It is considered an advantage if you have knowledge of:

  • Check-out systems / Point-of-Sale (POS)
  • system architecture
  • virtual server environments
  • SQL – database experience

Lastly, you must be prepared for a certain amount of travel activity when physical installations are required in the cinemas.
