The position As our business is growing, we require experienced negotiators to lead contract discussions across a wide portfolio of potential and current suppliers of raw materials, finished products, devices and contract manufacturing services. Joining a team of negotiation and contract specialists, you will be responsible for:
  • Planning and carrying out negotiations with global suppliers ensuring the best commercial outcomes for Novo Nordisk.
  • Understanding the commercial needs of the business and transforming that into actionable key terms in a negotiation, identifying the appropriate business models and anchoring it in contracts.
  • Obtaining mandate for negotiations and communicate objectives, scenarios and risk to management.
  • Being a professional ambassador of Novo Nordisk and to ensure that negotiations are conducted in a professional way.
  • Coaching and training stakeholders in negotiation processes and strategy.
  • Qualifications To be successful in this position you will have:
  • A master’s degree in business administration/economics/commercial law or similar
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in commercial negotiations and strong understanding of business models and contracts.
  • Business partnering experience, within a matrix organisation, and excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to successfully lead commercial negotiations, and contract writing.
  • It would be considered an advantage if you have experience from the pharmaceutical, device or life science industry. We will also consider applications from other heavily regulated sectors. Further, experience from training others in negotiation would be an asset. The level of complexity in the role will depend on seniority and we, therefore, welcome applicants with different levels of experience. As a person, you are confident navigating complex and dynamic organizations. You are an influential person with a strong individual drive and dedication. As this job requires you to work with internal stakeholders and global suppliers, we expect you to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to build and maintain good work relationships. Additionally, you thrive in a busy environment and bring a ‘can-do attitude’ as well as a healthy sense of humour to your work. About the department Our Strategy, Sourcing, Negotiation CoE is a dedicated group of more than 20 people with extensive experience in running tenders and negotiating high-profile contracts. We drive projects across our global organization for direct sourcing. We are part of the central sourcing unit in Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply division, and we are commercially responsible. Through collaboration with our global supplier network, we ensure the availability of the supply needed to develop and produce products that help millions of people around the world to better live with chronic diseases.
