Opportunity

We are looking for a Procurement Project Manager to join our Svitzer Europe Procurement team. In this role, you get the unique opportunity to take on responsibility for and lead procurement projects within the region – leading sourcing projects, conducting negotiations, and drive process improvements.

We offer

Svitzer is a towage company, which means we help our customers maneuver their larger ships safely and timely in and out of port. Most of our business in Europe is to support container vessels, cargo ships, cruise ships and navy vessels but we also attend to emergencies like vessels being adrift or offshore fires. We are part of the Maersk Group.
In this role, you get the opportunity to take charge of projects that impacts our onshore staff or the European fleet of 150 vessels across 6 countries with the aim of smooth and cost-effective operations. You could for example be running a tender for inspection services, optimize usage of our crewing contracts, identify purchase-to-pay related process improvements or drive initiatives related to our transition to carbon neutral towing.
Our team is spread across Denmark, UK, Sweden, and Netherlands and consists of buyers, a category manager, a project manager and a procurement administrator. Our roles are different, but we work as a team and help each other out. You will be joining a busy but engaged team where we try to strike the balance of being strategic while supporting the frontline with their daily needs.
You will be based in Copenhagen together with the Svitzer Europe headquarter team. Our offices are part of the Maersk Campus located at Esplanaden 50.
We are looking for a new colleague who is able to work independently and professionally with key procurement processes and drive projects forward in collaboration with colleagues and suppliers. We place emphasis on being able to maintain good and professional relationships, as we rely on our good relationships to solve problems and run an upright business.
You will work closely with our frontline teams who operate the towage business on a day-to-day basis, as well as the Svitzer Europe headquarters team whenever they need support or are involved in a procurement project. Being part of Maersk, you will also build relations with Maersk procurement professionals and be supported by best-in-class processes and e-procurement tools.
Your days will vary between desktop work, virtual meetings and in-person interactions, while also taking the time to travel from time to time to meet the organization in person. Since the projects are different by nature, no two days will be the same.
