If you can say ‘Yes’ to above, then you may be just the one we are looking for to drive the sourcing of sustainable fuels in APMT as we work towards phasing out traditional fuels.

The job further entails sourcing of lubricants and traditional fuels. As such, we are looking for a person with strong project management skills who possesses a natural commercial aptitude.

As Global Energy Category Manager in the Maersk Procurement department, you will work closely with other fuel sourcing entities in Maersk, the APMT and Maersk Decarbonization teams, terminals and suppliers to accelerate the decarbonization of APMT operations.

You will bring and further build a strong network and collaborative relationships to facilitate the switch to sustainable fuels which you are responsible for sourcing, taking the unique service requirements of each terminal into account.

You will be a key contributor to the continued development and implementation of APMTs decarbonization strategy, through contributing insights and expertise about local emissions regulations and subsidy schemes.

While decarbonization is a key focus area, you are also responsible for tendering and negotiating lubricants and traditional fuels.

This position can be based both in Copenhagen, Denmark or The Hague, Netherlands, and some travel can be expected to visit terminals, regional offices or suppliers to engage with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities


We are looking for a experienced project and/or category manager who is passionate about energy transition and decarbonization, and has the knowledge, curiosity, and experience to impact the business.

Your responsibilities include:

- Planning and executing projects aimed at rolling out biofuels across the APM Terminals
- Multi-Million USD $ vendor negotiations and offer evaluation based on APMT strategies and value for money evaluation criteria.
- Development and implementation of best-in-class energy and lubricant category, sourcing, and risk management strategies designed to support stakeholder needs.
- Ongoing management of internal and external stakeholder relationships with a strong emphasis on creating partnerships and cooperation’s that create competitive advantage
- Analysis and interpretation of spend and supply data to measure performance, drive optimization, and continuous improvement on a local or federal level.
- Monitor current events in the oil and energy commodity markets and price developments and develop effective inflationary mitigation strategies where required
- Addressing day-to-day operational requirements for APM Terminals global footprint
- Aligning global, regional, and local strategic initiatives and handling and resolving conflicts constructively.

We are looking for


This position is well-suited to an individual with strong interpersonal skills, capable of developing and influencing internal and external relationships.

You must have a proven track record of planning and executing projects in an international matrix organization.

You have ideally worked with energy transition and/or sustainable fuels and have a good understanding of the industry, key technology trends and major/emerging players.

You have a strong commercial mindset with a natural focus on achieving the most cost-effective solutions for the business.

Experience in operational environments or a consultancy background within operationally driven businesses will be considered an advantage.

Your educational background is BSc or MSc in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or similar.

Furthermore you:

- Are a team player, who understands the importance of stakeholder management, can build rapport at all levels even in challenging situations and can encourage and influence others without authority
- Have an entrepreneurial mindset and strong analytical skills.
- Are able to take ownership, work independently in a structured manner and achieve concrete results.
- You can handle risks and uncertainties and are flexible in adapting when priorities change. You feel comfortable challenging the status quo and are motivated to lead change.
- Are an excellent communicator in English both in writing and in speaking.
