The Customs Integration Platform is part of the Maersk Logistics & Services organisation, and its mission is to provide digital products and technology solutions that deliver the Customs House Brokerage and Compliance services that Maersk offers to its customers. You will work with one or more distributed engineering teams across several time zones. This role is mid-level – job level 4 of 9 in total – and it is expected that you can handle an engineering team and drive development of new features in line with the product strategy and roadmap

This role is inherently cross-functional, and you will work closely, not just with engineering, but also business development and the functional product owners at Maersk, who are instrumental in getting logistic products shipped.

You’ll be part of a larger platform team of up to 9 product owners and you’ll have the opportunity to learn from others and share your experience. You’ll work according to the Maersk 3P (Product, Process and Platform) Development Framework, which outlines how business product owners, functional (operations) product owners, platform product owners (you), UX and engineering teams collaborate and utilise artefacts from the operational planning processes first developed by Amazon.

A successful candidate will be highly diligent, able to work effectively across business, engineering and UX and able to deliver value to customers in fast iterations informed by real world learnings

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the product backlog
  • Define and execute roadmaps in collaboration with your team, peers and stakeholders
  • Work closely with the business stakeholders to align with business objectives and deliver the right product
  • Work with the technology stakeholders to define the technology approach
  • Work with one or more distributed engineering teams
  • Make smart trade-offs between time, scope and resources
  • Own communications with the wider team around milestone and release plans
  • Bring together engineers, designers, and departments from around the company to build and release product features & capabilities as per plan
  • You will orchestrate and be ultimately responsible for your projects and products, and be able to define and track core KPI(s).
  • Champion customer and stakeholder needs throughout project execution, ensuring that what is delivered meets the original goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with UX designers for the discovery and design phases of a feature
  • Create, monitor, and evaluate the impact of experiments using a combination of analytical tools & research methods
  • And when a product ships, popping the cork from the champagne bottle to celebrate!

We are looking for

  • Ability to synthesize customer needs and insights and communicate the results with great clarity
  • Passionate about technology as a driver of change
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver iterative value with UX and engineering teams
  • Knowledgeable about customs house brokerage and logistics
  • Desire to work in a new team, where there are more questions than answers
  • Ability to work across time zones and cultures in North America, Europe and Asia

Location

This is a global role and we will consider candidates located in North America (New Jersey/East Coast is preferred ), Europe (Denmark or UK is preferred), India (Bangalore or Pune is preferred).
