Join our Steel design and operation and maintenance team in Kongens Lyngby
As Student Assistant you will become part of COWI's Steel design and operational and maintenance team within Bridges and Civil Structures. We are approx. 60 colleagues working in these areas primarily on projects in Denmark and the other Scandinavian countries and primarily for large public customers. We also do operation and maintenance on some of the largest cable supported bridges in the world (Great Belt Bridge and 1923 Canakkale Bridge). We have an ambition of being the most skilled consultant in our area including digitalisation and sustainability.

In this position, you will be part of our group with assignments primarily within steel design and operation & maintenance, hereunder also tasks in COWIs own Building Material Laboratory.

An exciting student position where your skills make a difference
Your most important task will be to assist us and be able to navigate in a dynamic work environment. In addition, to be flexible and able to adapt to changes that might occur during our work. Your specific tasks will for example be:

  • Assist on-site inspections
  • Write inspection reports
  • Laboratory analysis and reporting
  • Maintenance and follow-up on best practice tools
  • Other assistance to the project managers and engineers depending on their needs and your interests and competencies

We do not expect you to know everything from the beginning, but that you are curious about the projects, project phases and the implementation of tools, and willing to take on different types of tasks; Working hours are on average approx. one day a week.

Furthermore, we imagine that you meet the following qualifications:

  • You are a student at DTU within Construction Technology or AAU within Structural and Civil Engineering
  • You are an experienced user of Excel
  • Programming experience in Python or similar
  • You speak and write Danish (Danish is the used language in this business unit)
  • You have an eye for detail, are structured and quality-conscious
  • You emphasize integrity and are good at working together.
