Unibio is a biotech company that owns and develops a patented fermentation technology to produce protein from methane. Our technology decouples protein production from agriculture and fishing, reducing the environmental and climate impact of meat production significantly. The technology is unique and has the potential to reduce the footprint of protein production as well as meeting an accelerating global demand for protein products for both feed and food.
We run a demonstration plant in Kalundborg, and the first full-size production plant is in operation in by an international licensee. Unibio is owned by the founding Busch-Larsen family, a group of private investors and Mitsubishi Corporation. We are 52 employees in Roskilde and Kalundborg.
We expect to contract and deliver several new plants in the next years. The engineering team will be pivotal for the successful project execution. For the team in Roskilde we are looking for a new:
Project Management – International – Development – Sustainability

Do you want to help deploying protein of the future, which makes it possible to feed the world’s growing population without devastating the ecosystems? Unibio has developed a sustainable technology to produce protein from gas. The technology is based on fermentation using natural gas as a raw product. With our technology, we can avoid overfishing the oceans and clearing the rainforest to grow soybeans. We are headquartered in Roskilde, with development and demo facilities in Kalundborg and the first plant established outside Denmark, and more in process. We experience high interest from investors, who wants to establish production in different countries around the world and expect to commence several +100 MUSD projects within this and next year.
As our new project manager, you will become part of a small Engineering & Projects team, which is responsible for project management, working closely with international EPC/EPCM engineering companies. The team is also responsible for the continuous development of our patented technical solutions, as well as. We work closely with colleagues from other departments and external partners who supplement our knowledge and resources, allowing us to execute large projects with a small agile organization. You will be involved in all aspects of Engineering & Projects particularly CAPEX projects.
The tasks will furthermore include:
Engineer which process plant knowledge, project management skills and the ability to structure and run complex projects through external partners
You have an educational background in engineering, mechanical-, process- or similar combined with 3+ years of experience working with international capex projects, preferably within complex biotech or food process plants. On top of your project management skills, you have some experience designing, installing, and commissioning large projects.
Knowledge of one or more of the following processes will be beneficial:
You are known as a good planner, you build structures, you see solutions and are always two steps ahead, keeping momentum and quality. You follow up and attend to details as well the big picture, while at the same time you build relations within a complex matrix of internal and external contacts. You thrive in an international environment and enjoy travelling.
As you will work in an international environment and engage with many stakeholders, you must be fluent in English, both orally and in writing.

- Project management from initial planning to commissioning, in cooperation with our internal process specialists, EPC partners, licensees, and suppliers worldwide
- Sizing, specification, and construction of process equipment
- Development of PFD´s, PID´s, layouts, FDS´s, etc.
- Vendor evaluation, purchasing and quality control
- Installation and commissioning through external partners
Engineer which process plant knowledge, project management skills and the ability to structure and run complex projects through external partners
You have an educational background in engineering, mechanical-, process- or similar combined with 3+ years of experience working with international capex projects, preferably within complex biotech or food process plants.
