LEO Pharma Global Research and Development devotes its efforts to develop innovative drugs for the treatment of skin diseases like psoriasis and eczema as well as supporting LEO Pharma marketed products within dermatology and thrombosis. You will enter Pharmaceutical Design and Development, Global R&D, at the most exciting period as we right now are transforming R&D and our marketed portfolio to meet the requirements of tomorrow.

Great opportunity within LEAN implementation, Continuous Improvements and Performance Management in a pharmaceutical R&D setting

Pharmaceutical Product Support Area is part of Pharmaceutical Design & Development VP Area, Global R&D, counting app 50 persons divided into three departments. We provide fast, efficient and qualified pharmaceutical documentation and analytical support for all marketed products as well as innovative products at LEO Pharma.
Pharmaceutical Product Support has embarked on a Continuous Improvement (LEAN) journey as a frontrunner Area in Pharmaceutical Design and Development. We need you to lead and guide us to the next level of CI maturity and prepare for later implementation of CI, LEAN and Performance Management in all of Pharmaceutical Design and Development, spanning five areas and app. 160 employees.

Your primary areas of responsibility:

Your overall responsibility is to act as internal process improvement consultant and change agent to support Line of Business in embedding the continuous improvement (CI) and performance management mindset as a way of working. Your key priority is to support Pharmaceutical Product Support and Pharmaceutical Design and Development in becoming continuously better at running and improving our business- and organisational processes, along with support of cross-organisational LEO Pharma CI initiatives. Hence you must have a drive and ability to engage leaders and employees at all levels in the organization to continuously challenge current standards and improve for tomorrow.

Your daily tasks will typically encompass:

  • Daily management of Area and VP Area master plan, improvement projects, performance and change management aspects in line with plans and strategies laid out by the management team of the (VP) Area
  • Build capabilities in LoB and support local LEAN Ambassadors
  • Continuing training of leaders and employees in continuous improvement culture and tools (e.g. LEAN) in line with agreements made in the Area management team
  • Act as internal consultant and change agent to support LoB in embedding CI and performance management as culture
  • Identify, plan, execute and follow up on CI projects as project manager in close collaboration with Line of Business
  • Coach CI/Kaizen (LEAN) project managers
  • Identify and deploy relevant systems and tools (PDCA, DMAIC, VSM, Six Sigma etc.) in a harmonised way, roll out of best practices
  • Participate in LEO Pharma CI Communities to bring expertise and knowledge into play with focus on sharing best practice to anchor learnings across the organization


  • Experience and competences for the ideal candidate:

    The ideal candidate has a high capacity and ability to cover conceptual, strategic discussions as well as detailed CI tool discussions at shop floor (operational level). By nature, you act according to the Pharmaceutical Design and Development mindset ‘Courage’, ‘Trust’, ‘Impact’ and ‘Collaborate for success’.

    Furthermore, the ideal candidate brings:

  • Master Black Belt/Six Sigma certification in LEAN or similar, a minimum of 5 years of operational experience from Development or administrative areas within Pharma, Food or similar regulated R&D organisations
  • Experience with LEAN tools and methods e.g. Kaizen, VSM, Visual planning, performance management
  • Ability to manage resources without direct reporting line through stakeholder management
  • Project manager skills with proven track record, including portfolio management
  • Business acumen to be able to evaluate the business impact vs CI projects
  • Change management skills with documented experience from similar change transitions
  • Ability to act as a role model for continuous improvement culture, visible by ‘living the LEO values´ and creating lasting, tangible results
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills in Danish and English
  • Ability to work across a global organization and handle complex environments
  • Experience with digitalization will be considered an advantage
