Technical Account Manager – Virtual Cloud Network

As one of our Technical Account Manager - Virtual Cloud Network (VCN TAM) in the VMware Customer Success organization, you will be responsible for building and maintaining post-sales relationships with some of VMware's largest customers. You will be the customer's single point of contact into all of VMware. As such, your technical abilities are critical in identifying solutions, troubleshooting issues, and answering technical questions with a special focus on network virtualization and security.

Responsibilities
- Establish long-term relationships within assigned accounts while developing an understanding of the client’s strategic goals and overall impact on business results
- Collaborate with multi-functional VMware project teams which could consist of VMware consultants, engineers, product management and support staff
- Function as a front-line technical resource for "best practice" and informal customer questions, and provide clear and constructive product feedback to VMware Product Management teams based on customer use-cases and requirements
- Maintain a current knowledge of VMware’s networking and security solutions, along with a high-level technical knowledge of VMware’s product line and future product direction
- Understand the customer’s high-level business challenges while functioning as an advisory resource for “Best Practices” and driving adoption of VMware solutions within your accounts
Required Skills
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, including the ability to adapt to the situation and tailor the message to the level of the recipient
- Networking experience with the desire to learn the VMware specific products
- Previous technical background in advanced networking and security
- Experience in a customer-facing role, preferably within a professional services or pre-sales business unit
- Ability to work remotely and the flexibility to travel to customers within the Nordics
- Fluent in English
Desired Skills / Willingness to learn
- Knowledge of VMware virtualization, networking and security products, solutions, and services
- Network Security Tools and Networking Concepts such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, Security/Trust Zones and Zero-Trust
- Data center infrastructure, operating systems, desktop deployments, system administration and/or technical architecture
- Virtual networking components such as VSG, Nexus 1000V, and vDS Networking protocols such as BGP & OSPF VLANs, VPN, Unicast vs Multicast, Management Networks, IP subnetting, and network design
- Networking technologies and vendors such as Cisco, F5, Riverbed, Force10, Vyatta/Brocade, A10 Networks, Arista, Infoblox, Palo Alto Networks
- Project Management
