Thales people architect solutions that support 85 million mainline and suburban passenger journeys, worldwide, every day. Our Rail Signalling and Communication systems are used on metro lines across major cities, and 72,000 kms of route, 52,000 trains per day in 16 countries are controlled by our Traffic Management Systems. Together We deployed the first-ever nationwide ticketing system which processes over 50 million ticketing transactions in 100 cities daily.
Thales has been involved in Danish projects since 1973, and now due to the significance of the Group’s activities and the market outlooks in the country, Thales has since established a formal regional office in Copenhagen in January 2015. Thales has delivered the Danish Travelcard system and is in charge of its operation and maintenance for the next 10 years. Moreover, it is Thales’ hope to further enhance the system with the latest technologies, like mobile phone and account-based functionalities.
Sales & Key Account manager
Do you have solid experience within Sales & Key Account Management and do you want to pursue and expand the solutions of Thales’ Revenue Collecting Systems in Denmark? Can you establish trustworthy relationships internally and externally in an organization? Then you may be the Sales & Key Account Manager, we are looking for at Thales Denmark – a part of Thales Group.
Central role in maintaining and expanding the Thales Revenue Collecting Systems in Denmark
As Sales & Key Account Manager for the business line Revenue Collecting Systems (RCS) within the global business unit Ground Transportation in Thales you will have a key position in an ambitious, quality-conscious and changing organization. You will join the business line of RCS’s Sales Department who is in charge of the full portfolio of the business line for the Danish market. You will in this position have a dual reporting line to the hierarchical manager being Head of Sales in the Nordic & Baltic organization as well as the functional manager in the business line being the Director Commerciale Business Line Revenue Collecting Systems – located in France. Your primary responsibility is to ensure profitable order intake in Denmark for the RCS business line as well as sustain and grow the already existing business, hereunder the Danish Travel Card.
The ticketing and mobility environment and industry is growing through a rapid change with new players and new innovations. It is your responsibility, as Sales & Key Account Manager for the RCS business line, to understand the relevant developments and translate these into the customer’s context, and work with the customer to assess the applicability in the Danish environment.
The role as Sales & Key Account Manager will be two fold, and you will in the position have the following responsibilities:
In the function as Key Account Manager for the Travel Card project:
In the function as Sales Manager for the Danish market:
In role of Sales & Key Account Manager for the RCS business line in Denmark, it is imperative to be able to communicate to all relevant RCS internal Business line teams such as Sales and Bid management, the General Project Manager of the Travel Card, the Core Directories of RCS, and the Danish Country Director and other local Thales organizations as well as the external stakeholders, here among others Rejsekort & Rejseplanen A/S, the Danish Public Transportation Organization's, Governmental stakeholders, suppliers, sub-contractors and partners.
Strong management and relational abilities
You have been in a similar position before, where you have gained solid experience within complex business-to-business selling, and knowledge in a business-to-business-to-customer context would be an advantage.
As a person you are proactive, trustworthy and have a natural drive. You are robust and able to maintain the overview under pressure. You have a lot of energy, your engagement is your driving force and you enjoy being the keyperson in your area.

As Sales & Key Account Manager for the Revenue Collecting System business line in Thales Denmark you are expected to be able to navigate in an international large-size organization but with a local focus in Denmark, and within that, drive Thales forward in good customer relations and explore new business opportunities. East-West a part of Thales Denmark A/S
East-West ApS was responsible for the development and implementation of the Rejsekort, and we are now maintaining and further developing the service. The Rejsekort is a ticketing system based on a chip card, which is useful in bus, train and metro in Denmark. Rejsekort A/S, the company East-West ApS is delivering the Rejsekort solution for is the company who is administrating the electronical tickiting system which is owned by the Danish Publich Transportation Organizations, here among others DSB, Metro, Arriva.

In the function as Key Account Manager for the Travel Card project:
- In coordination with the marketing & strategy department, Build the Strategic or Key Account plan for your account to detail the strategy (that is ultimately agreed with the Customer) and shared it with internal stakeholders
- Be the Thales RCS "One face" to the customer and be the Account "One face" within the BL and Thales
In the function as Sales Manager for the Danish market:
- Make all pre-sales activities (promoting the RCS solutions, identifying and qualifying the opportunities) in close relationship with Marketing and Strategy.
- Being the leader of a pluri-disciplinary Capture team composed of all RCS BL stakeholders in Denmark and overseas, you will be responsible for producing, deliver, and negotiate RCS offers to contract signature
- Closely track your opportunity target in close collaboration with your partner network
- Ultimately take profitable orders within your area
- Internal commercial reporting
- Internal marketing support (collecting market’s needs, trends, competitors information)
