Would you like to become part of our vision to provide security at Sea - for Naval and Maritime vessels– then this is your chance to join our European sales team who is a part of our highly skilled and motivated Terma global Naval sales team. We are a small team of 10 covering global sales reporting to our Danish HQ.

As a Sales Manager, you will join the European Naval Sales department with a focus on growing the order intake for our Naval Systems. Your main focus will be on Shipyards, System Integrators and End Users in Europe.

The Naval Systems are based on Terma’s new C-Flex PATROL Command & Control System, naval decoy systems C-GUARD and our range of world-famous SCANTER surveillance radars. Often this is combined with EO surveillance, IFF, gunfire control, tactical data link, electronic warfare, decoy systems, etc. forming a Mission System that is suitable for supporting the roles and missions of Patrol Vessels, Offshore Patrol Vessels, Fast Attack Crafts and Amphibious/Support vessels.

The end-users range from Navies to Coastguards and Marine Police, who are the users and operators of such types of vessels in various sizes and configurations.

The job

Your responsibilities will cover:

  • You will be responsible for generating a yearly Order Intake related to the size of your market and accounts.
  • You will lead and conduct medium- to long-term sales campaigns of naval solutions, through operationally and technically advising the customer on how to gain the required and necessary capability.
  • You will take the lead of internal proposal generation, using the organization to generate the proposal, while you develop the winning strategy and the commercial aspects.
  • You will participate in Exhibitions and Conferences to promote Terma and our naval products and systems.
  • You are expected to spend a good portion of your time with your customers. 60-80 traveling days yearly are to be expected.
  • You will provide feedback to the organization related to product enhancements, possible process improvements, etc.

How to succeed in this position?

We are looking for a person with a strong commercial and technical profile, combined with excellent inter-personnel and communication skills. You have a higher operational or technical education, but most importantly you have knowledge and experience from naval operations. +5 years of experience from a commercial role, preferably within sales, business development or similar with a proven sales record

The ideal candidate has a high drive for leading sales opportunities and creating results combined with the ability to make decisions within the area that we operate.

  • You are result-oriented with the ability to divide focus between building the pipeline (generating new leads & maintaining/developing existing customers) and closing contracts & purchase orders to achieve the overall goal for Order Intake.
  • You work with high integrity to ensure that our customers always perceive Terma as a professional and trustworthy partner.
  • You have the patience and persistence to learn and work with your customers, to understand his requirements, needs, etc. on a long-term basis.
  • You are a social-oriented person who enjoys the company and cooperation of other people - customers as well as colleagues.
