Channel Sales Manager to Sony Nordic – Digital Imaging / Photo


Location: Denmark, Norway, Finland or Sweden


Unique opportunity to further build and lead own business area with technology leading products and solutions directed towards BtC and BtB customer segments. As Channel Sales Manager, you head the sales and channel strategies, motivate, and engage 5 senior sales professionals, and are part of ensuring Sony Nordic’s ambitions for topline growth.

The role as Channel Sales Manager is part of the senior sales management in Sony Nordic and is responsible for driving the Digital Imaging business across the Nordic Region. Sony Nordic is already well-positioned in retail and is ambitious about further expanding the business into the BtB / corporate sector. Additionally, you focus on further strengthening existing Photo Channel dealership relationships and existing business with retailers, when it comes to maximising sales, profit, and brand awareness.

In your role, you report to the Nordic Sales Director and are a member of the Nordic senior sales management team. Besides setting the sales and channel strategies, business and customer plans, you also support your team in positioning Sony Nordic as a brand. Your location can be in one of the Scandinavian countries if you can be in the Nordic HQ 2-4 days monthly.

The job

In your role, you operate at a strategic and tactical level, while also supporting your team in executing the strategies and plans. You provide overview and insight in market drivers and developments, where you provide analyses of your product group and customer base to define and implement annual budgets and forecasts. From there, you are the driving force behind ensuring that sales and brand activation teams execute the plans.

To be a driving force, you contribute with leadership, delegation and support to your team, internal stakeholders, and your support teams. Who knows? If you are successful in realising the objectives, your team and scope can grow over time. Your areas of responsibilities as of now include:

  • Define and execute the DI / Photo Channel sales and marketing strategies across the Nordics.
  • Drive BtB and Corporate / Government engagement strategy and accelerate BtB sales channel / dealer relationships to expand and strengthen distributions for long term sales and profit.
  • Set and deliver the agreed sales and profit metrics. Drive monthly and quarterly business plans for all dealers; achieve high forecast accuracy results delivering results through the team.
  • Weekly review of net sales and profitability development and initiate necessary pricing actions.
  • Define business and channel strategy priorities covering pricing, advertising and promotion, product line, and market segments.
  • Responsible for generating in-depth market knowledge to identify customer and market segment opportunities and risks.
  • Head the high performing DI / Photo Channel sales and marketing team through coaching, training, mentoring and support. Driving senior relationships across the B2B and B2C partner base and participating in key customer activities/meetings as appropriate.

The profile

We expect you to be a sales-driven individual with strong leadership skills, who can set a direction, and together with an experienced team execute ambitious sales strategies and plans. You possess great ownership, seniority, and are one who can engage and motivate your team, stakeholders, and customers. In your work, you have a commercial mindset, an entrepreneurial spirit, and can think “big” and are ready to go the extra mile, and you are comfortable being part of a high sales- and performance-driven environment.

Professionally, we expect you to have experience in the following:

  • A sales background from premium consumer electronic brand(s) to Retail (BtC), and preferably combined with Corporate (BtB) sales.
  • Management experience, leading ambitious sales teams.
  • Experience in Nordic sales and stationed in one of the Scandinavian countries.
  • Skilled in operating at a strategic and tactical level and executing sales and key account plans.
  • Strong negotiation experience and category mindset.
  • IT knowledge of SAP/Oracle, SAP BW, PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.).
  • Fluent in English and one of the Scandinavian languages.
  • Academic credentials at bachelor’s or master’s level, combined with strong professional experience.
